2005 SPIT FOR ATHENA NEWS

12/19/05 Hey. Our shows over the weekend were rough but fun. We kinda sucked at Blingerz, but we still sold a few CDs, so I guess we didn't suck too bad. It was kind of a practice for us, because we hadn't played together in over a month. The American Legion show went a little better, but Melanie ended up breaking her low E string halfway through our set...Broken bass strings aren't as easy to replace as guitar strings (for us, at least), and we had to stop. Mark Budd just had his guitar, and The Burning Hatreds don't have a bass player, so there was no one to borrow a bass from. Still, we had fun. Our next show is December 29th in Kalamazoo with BERWER. It's gonna be awesome, we promise.

12/07/05 Hey. There's a spiffy new review for "Piss Is Perfect" by Luke Hackney
. I posted it on this website HERE, or you can read it at metrotimes.com HERE. It made me smile.

We're definitely playing in Quincy and Coldwater on December 16th and 17th...the shows are confirmed. So, yeah...that's something. And then there's that Berwer show on the 29th. Oooh...baby.

11/29/05 Hey. Sorry for the lack of updates, but we really don't do much when it's this cold...We've got a few shows coming up in December. One big one with Berwer in Kalamazoo. It's their CD-R/poster release party...they're gonna sell sweet-ass screenprinted posters with CD-Rs of their new studio recordings to pay for the pressing of their CD. Hot. If you're not there, you suck. We also have a couple shows in Quincy and Coldwater. Home. Aww. Show details are all HERE or at our MySpace thingy.

11/07/05 Hey. Thanks to anyone who came out and watched us in Howell last night. Sorry Matt and Melanie were late
and we had to switch with HORSE the band. 75% of the audience left when they were done, but we had a lot of fun with those of you that stuck around.

We don't have anymore November shows planned right now, and December is blank, so I don't know what to tell you. I'm sure we'll think of something.

I'm gonna try and get some of new press clipping up on this website, and some new photos. Give me a couple weeks. Sorry I'm a slacker.

Congrats again to Levi and Brandy for tying the knot!

10/26/05 Hey. The CD release shows went well...thank you to everyone who came out and supported us, and extra thanks to those of you who forked over the $10.00 for a copy of "Piss Is Perfect". We've made a bit of our money back, and we'll pay you back by releasing another album of new material sometime in 2006. Rock.

One huge show coming up in November, with HORSE the band, and we're working on another CD Release-type show in Chicago. That's about it. We're hoping to tour a little in early 2006. In the meantime, check out Clear Days Always playing around hear and there, and go buy something from Self-Satisfied.

Levi Bailey is getting married to Brandy Beerens on October 31, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Congratulations, you guys!

10/15/05 "Piss Is Perfect" is now available. 23 tracks in 45 minutes. You can get it through us or Friction Records, and I'm sure Friction will be getting it up on iTunes soon. It looks great, it sounds great, we're very happy. Broadside Productions did a great job, and you should only record with them. Thanks to everyone who came out to our recent shows in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids...we had a lot of fun. We're very lucky to have people still interested in our shaky little band.

More shows coming up next week...Lansing, Quincy...and a big one in Howell in November. Check them all out HERE.

There's tons of stuff on this website, people. Photos, art, our history, a Rockmap...you just have to look around. Do I have to spell it out for you? Dammit. Bleah.

10/4/05...Hey. We got our first review on "Piss Is Perfect" in this month's Recoil. Check it out HERE.

Tons of shows this month. Is five a ton?

9/6/2005...Hey. We should be mailing out the "Piss Is Perfect" master to the pressing plant tomorrow. Hopefully it will be back in our hands in time for the October shows. Wish really hard for us.

There's some new Self-Satisfied releases.

8/31/05...Happy 4th Birthday, Spit For Athena.

7/29/05...
Shows section updated. The drummer situation has been solved. "Piss Is Perfect" will be out on Friction Records in (probably) October. Joy To The World.

7/18/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW SELF-SATISFIED RELEASES

Hi. Clear Days Always just returned from a week-long Illinois tour. Why only Illinois? Because gas costs too fucking much. I had one date in Indiana, but they cancelled on me (see explanation below, news entry for 7/6/05).

Brandy and I watched the first half-hour of "War Of The Worlds" in a ghetto-ass theater with Eric Benda, and then the power went out. They refunded our money. It was all pretty freaky.

I got to play with Earwig Spectre in Chicago. He's frickin' amazing. Unbound Books grabbed a few copies of "Ten Fingers..." on consignment. It was a great show.

Gabe, who got me the show at Peoria Pizza Works, is the nicest guy in the world.

Matt from Camp Climax For Girls let Brandy and I sleep in his rock-and-roll basement. He likes Seinfeld. Alton has a depressing mall.

If you're ever in Hoffman Estates, you should visit Record Breakers. It's a fucking awesome record store, and they let me annoy their customers for about an hour.

Thank you: Scott Free, Earwig Spectre, J and Emelda, Jennie and Liberte, Red Line Tap Open-Mic, Matt at Climax Cabin, The Hospital Bombers, Gabe (check out his band), Peoria Pizza Works, Finding Benjamin, Oceanic Voice, the guy at Clearwater who slipped me five bucks in the bathroom, Eric Benda, and Tommy and Jason(?) at Record Breakers.

In Spit For Athena news, "Piss Is Perfect" will be released on Friction Records in the next few months.

7/7/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS ARTICLE AND CD REVIEW FROM JULY 2005 RECOIL.

The DAAC show last night with The Feverfew was lots of fun...Poo on you if you missed out on it. Thank you to everyone that stuck around all night. Next Clear Days Always show: Friday in Quincy, MI @ Blingerz. More shows listed HERE.

Spit For Athena is gradually figuring out its drummer situation. When Levi returns from his small Clear Days Always tour, shit will probably get accomplished. We are NOT breaking up.

7/6/05 Hey. Come see Clear Days Always tonight at the DAAC with The Feverfew, David Shultz, and Coin, but DO NOT go try to see Clear Days Always this Saturday in Mishawaka, IN at Sufficient Grounds Coffee House. The manager cancelled the show after visiting this website and deciding that the music and image of Clear Days Always is not appropriate for their establishment. So, yeah, no show this Saturday. Levi even tried to promise a G-rated performance...no dice. I guess Clear Days Always is pretty fucking scary.

7/5/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: New CD-R releases available from Self-Satisfied

Hey. How's it going? Listen: Before this weekend, I thought it was a "nice little drive" from Michigan to New York. When Spit For Athena went out there, Matt did most of the driving, and I was basically...um..."coach", I guess? I'd talk to him, keep him active, change the CD's...so, yeah. I figured Brandy and I could zip out there for a couple days and zip right back! No problem! Clear Days Always in New York! Rock!

Eleven-plus hours is a hellish amount of time to spend on the road, in a van, with one other person...and then eleven-plus hours back. Awesome. It was one of the worst fucking things I've ever experienced.

I guess I'm not hardcore, but I never claimed to be. I'm a real pussy. I flipped out a few times, Brandy had to put up with a lot of shit, and we're $115.00 in the hole, but HEY! Rock and roll, right? It wasn't all bad...

Before we left for New York, I played a show at the Howell Rec. Center. A supercool girl named Kate set it up, and she did a great job. I got to see Ian, and he got to make fun of me.

700+ miles later, in Ronkonkoma, I played at a neat-o place called Freespace. Very nice people, very cool kids. Played with a bunch of cool bands. Stayed at the wonderful, wonderful Hobo House in Huntington Station. Got a great care package from Rok Lok Records. Very cool.

Left Huntington Station at 9AM Sunday morning to drive seven hours back west to Olean (OH-LEE-ANN), NY, only to find it's an insanely small, nothing-going-on town. A very cool guy showed us a grocery store where we could buy Boca burgers. There weren't meany kids at the show, because there was some fest going on in the next town over. Bummer. The kids that WERE there were very nice, though.

New York City/Long Island all that shit...that's NOTHING like the rest of the state. It's like, everything is packed into that one little area: the people, the food, the stores...the rest of the state is grass, mountains, trees. NOTHING. A long, painful nothing, that only leads into the long, painful nothing that is Pennsylvania. Now I know, right? Learning is power! Good lord.

My next show is this Wednesday at the DAAC in Grand Rapids with Coin (Chad, solo-acoustic), The Feverfew, and David Shultz. It's an all-acoustic show, so bring your patience and respect, motherfuckers. After that, it's Quincy on Friday, then off to Indiana, then Illinois...rock!

Well...acoustic rock. Almost rock. Feh. Eat it.

6/30/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS/LAP DANCER SPLIT CD-R, GROUTE GATE GENDER CD-R ADDED TO SELF-SATISFIED STORE.

Bryan Heany did a fantastic job drumming for us at Friction/Saw Her Ghost Fest...we had a lot of fun. The next Spit For Athena show is August 8th, at The Elbow Room in Ypsilanti. We're not sure yet if Bryan will be drumming for us at that show, or some other lucky guy/gal. Watch this website for details, yo.

6/24/05 Clear Days Always is going on tour...New York, Michigan, Illinois, and a little Indiana. Check him out. He also has a couple new mp3 selection up over at his fucking GeekSpace thingy.

There's lots of new art by Levi Bailey...go waste your time checking it out, RIGHT HERE.

Spit For Athena? Well...Bryan is gonna help us at Friction/Saw Her Ghost Fest tomorrow. That's about fucking it.

6/16/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW ART AND A NEW MOVIE ADDED TO ART BY LEVI BAILEY SECTION.

Bryan Heany is going to start practicing with Spit For Athena in preparation for the upcoming Friction/Saw Her Ghost Fest in Traverse City. We're meeting at his house on Sunday.

"Piss Is Perfect" sounds fucking awesome. It's our finest recorded material, and if anyone wants to pay to get it pressed, we'll cut you in on the profits. Otherwise, the bitch is gonna sit on the shelf. Who gives a shit? Contact us if it's you...

6/5/05...WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW REVIEW FOR "THE LAKE EFFECT" SPLIT HERE, NEW REVIEW FOR CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS' "TEN FINGERS..." CD HERE.

For those of you who don't know what's going on: No, we're not broke-up, yet. We've parted ways with our excellent drummer, Matt, because he's very busy, and has too much going on to concentrate on being in a band. We're looking for replacements, but it's very hard, because the person would have to live in Grand Rapids or Coldwater, or be willing to drive to practices. We've cancelled most of our shows, but we're still playing FRICTION/SAW HER GHOST FEST in Traverse City, and a show at the Elbow Room in August. So, yeah. That's what's going on. Clear Days Always has shows coming up, too.

6/2/05...WEBSITE UPDATE: JOHN SANDS MP3'S NOW AVAILABLE
and Devil And The Deep Blue Sea's "Disrespect" CD-R added to Self-Satisfied catalog.

5/20/05...We've decided to still play Friction/Saw Her Ghost Fest in Traverse City on June 25, with our friend Bryan Heany (Clear Days Always, RU486) on drums. He'll also be helping us on August 8 in Ypsilanti, at The Elbow Room. These will be our last two shows for awhile. We're taking a break. Levi and Melanie will continue working together in Glitterbomb, and Levi is still playing locally and touring in July as Clear Days Always.
VISIT SPIT FOR ATHENA @ MYSPACE HERE.

5/15/05...Hey. The show last night at Kraftbrau was fun. Jason from Today I Wait showed up, and his sister, Jessica. A few of our Quincy/Coldwater friends came, too, but it was a pretty poor turnout, otherwise. What's wrong with you people? You missed Russian fucking Circles. They were amazing. Not too mention Light and Hanalei. Way to go, losers. If you're not a total piece of trash, you've already bought a ticket from us for tomorrow's show at The Intersection with Life Of Agony. See you there. 7PM. Fuckin' A, buddy.

Keep an eye out, and when it's time, vote for us over at the Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands thingy, RIGHT HERE. Plus, you get to hear a new song, "Coming Down". We got to play Warped Tour in Detroit last year...who says lightning can't strike twice? Poorly organized, corporate-sponsored lightning, right in our asses.

5/10/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: PUNK PLANET REVIEW OF "THE LAKE EFFECT"

5/8/05...Hey. We're going to be in Kalamazoo this weekend at Kraftbrau with Light, Hanalei, and Russian Circles. It's going to be great, and it will give you and opportunity to buy a ticket from us... We still need to sell a few for our upcoming show at The Intersection on May 16 with Life Of Agony. Please help us by buying one...or two...from US, RIGHT HERE.

5/6/2005...We're playing this Saturday at Blingerz in Quincy.

4/26/2005 Hey. Our big weekend is over...Saturday in Kalamazoo and Lansing, and Sunday in Traverse City. The Kalamazoo show at Rocketstar on Saturday was cool, the people that work there are very nice. The second show that night was insane...too many drunk people, but it was nice to be a part of Atlantis Co-op's last show. The Green Party Benefit in Traverse City on Sunday was fun, too. Good stuff. It was weird being the only band there, though. NEXT SHOWS Remember: If you want a ticket for our show at The Intersection on May 16 with Life Of Agony, BUY ONE FROM US. Don't get it through Ticketmaster, don't buy it from The Intersection...we need to sell our share. Please help. Info HERE.

4/20/2005...HELP!!! Spit For Athena just got added to a Monday, May 16th show at The Intersection...We'll be opening for Life Of Agony, which is a really big deal to me, because I grew up listening to their music. The show is all ages, it starts around 6PM, and WE NEED TO SELL SOME TICKETS!!!

If you think you want to come to the show, please buy your tickets FROM US!!! We'll accept PayPal, check/money order/well-concealed cash by mail (and we'll mail you your ticket), or you can buy one from us in-person at any of our upcoming shows (we have a total of THREE this weekend)...Tickets are $12.00 in advance. it'll be a cool show, we're really excited, please let us know if you can help. E-mail us at spitforathenainyourpants@yahoo.com. See you soon...

4/18/2005 WEBSITE UPDATES: CORNER BAR PHOTOS FROM 4/18 ADDED TO ON THE CLOCK SECTION...LAP DANCER CD-R ADDED TO SELF-SATISFIED STORE.
Hey. Bangsugarbang are nice guys, and lots of fun. Cooper let Melanie use her bass when Melanie broke a string, saving our asses. Crippled Owen And The Fuck Me Nuts were cool, too, even though no one stuck around to check out their ten minute set. In fact, there weren't many people there at all, which really bums me out. I mean, I know Monday shows usually suck, but they only suck when no one shows up!!! What else were you doing that was so fucking important?
Luckily, we're giving you another chance to redeem yourselves as fans...FOUR chances, actually. On Saturday, we're playing Marshall at 5:30, Kalamazoo around 8:30, and Lansing around 10:30. We're going to fucking die. Then, on Sunday, we're heading up to Traverse City for a Green Party benefit. Damn. How's that for busy? You like that? Huh? Yeah.

4/17/05 HEY. Tori was great on Friday...very good show. I realized something on the way to Chicago, though...something very important: Gary, Indiana smells like a dead guy's asshole.

The Elbow Room doesn't smell much better, but Leighton is the nicest guy in the world, 25 Suaves almost made me crap my pants with all their ferocious volume, and a few of our friends came out to support us...a nice evening, except for the horrible fucking two-and-a-half-hour shit drive out there...Not cool. Almost died. Yelled a lot. 23 is not a fucking cool stretch.

I think we'll finish up the mixing/mastering of the remaining tracks for the new CD, and then we'll start deciding what we're going to do with it. In the meantime, why don't you come see us MONDAY IN KALAMAZOO @ THE CORNER BAR W/BANGSUGARBANG? Eh? Why not?

4/15/2005 Hey. I'm going to see Tori Amos tonight, in Chicago. This is, like, my fifth time seeing her. Good stuff.

Spit For Athena will be in Ypsilanti on Saturday at The Elbow Room with 25 Suaves. Come check us out, if you're old enough to hang out in a bar. If you're not, stay home and start writing up plans to open up your own all-ages club, and we'll play there next time!

4/10/2005 Hey. The Blingerz show was weird...we had to get to Hillsdale for our second show, so we played right at 7PM. There was hardly anyone there yet, we blasted through our songs as fast as we could, and we got the fuck out of there. I saw David...Patrick...faces...faces...

The Roxy has a huge sound system that is way too much for a messy little band like ours. Plus, a huge stage and a huge sound system doesn't mean much if there is no crowd there to absorb the sound, and give back energy. Three bands cancelled, I could count the bodies in the place without any trouble, and Hillsdale scares the hell out of me. If you're a big band that can draw a big crowd, though, you should definitely play The Roxy. Frickin' a million lights, smoke machines, towers of speakers, insane monitors...it's a trip, yo.

Next show: 4/16 at The Elbow Room with 25 Suaves.

4/8/2005 Hey. We're playing Blingerz at 7pm tomorrow, before we play The Roxy in Hillsdale at 8pm...Some band dropped off the Blingerz show, and Byron from Framing June, also playing, asked if we wanted to hop on the bill. I said "sure". It was a really intense conversation that I'm paraphrasing, because to go into detail would be too much for you to handle. So, yeah, two chances for Quincy/Coldwater/Hillsdale people to see us. Christmas has come early, bitches.

4/7/2005 WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW ARTIST ADDED TO SELF-SATISFIED ROSTER

4/6/2005 WEBSITE UPDATE: "FLYERS" SECTION ADDED

4/4/2005 WEBSITE UPDATE: 4-2 ROKK BOX PHOTOS ADDED (as promised!)

4/3/2005...Hey. The ROKK BOX show last night was fantastic, just like last time. The crowd was super-energetic, the other bands were great, and we even sold a few things. Very cool. I'll put some photos up from the show tonight or tomorrow, so all of you who missed it can feel even worse when you see how crazy-cool it was! Yeah!

Spit For Athena's next show is this Saturday in Hillsdale, MI, at The Roxy. Clear Days Always will be at Skelletones on Friday, in Grand Rapids.

4/2/05...My art show last night went better than I thought it would...thank you very much to all my friends and family who came out to support me, and thank you Coin, Ari Ari, and Pangaea (with guest performances from members of The Frenchie Perlis Organization) for performing fantastic sets.

Spit For Athena will be at the ROKK BOX tonight in Howell, MI (2152 Lydia Ln.). We will be performing with Silence The Wake, and Bottle Fight The World, who will be playing their last show. Come early, because there's only enough air for about forty or fifty people in that place.

3/31/05...Light has cancelled. They will not be at the show on Friday.

3/28/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS LIVE PHOTOGRAPHS ADDED AND NEW CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS CD-R RELEASE IN SELF-SATISFIED STORE!

Hey. Clear Days Always will be in Grand Rapids this Friday at the DAAC to coincide with my art show opening (see message below). Spit For Athena will be in Howell this Saturday.

ALSO...In case you missed the flyer on the page before this one, I'm having an art show at the DAAC. It runs from April 1 to April 14. Opening night is April 1, the art show starts at 6PM and the bands (Clear Days Always, The Frenchie Perlis Organization, and Ari Ari) start around 9PM. If you don't come, I'll hate you forever and never make you breakfast in bed ever again.

3/26/05...HEY. The show last night was okay. Sorry to our Marshall friends who didn't expect us to be playing first, but we didn't really expect that, either. Thanks to our new Ionia friends for being so nice. Our next show is Saturday in Howell.

ALSO...Clear Days Always (the full band version) is playing tonight in Kalamazoo at 429 Dutton, around 10:30PM. If you don't come, you're a frickin' jerk. Clear Days Always, by the way, is Levi's "other band".

3/22/04...Hey. Big show this Friday: We're playing with North Lincoln (No Idea Records, ex-Don Knotts) at the DAAC. It's gonna be frickin' huge. Don't miss out.

3/21/04 WEBSITE UPDATE FRANK FUZZ ADDED TO SELF-SATISFIED ROSTER

3/19/04 WEBSITE UPDATE OLD-ASS 2/14/04 SKELLETONES PHOTOS ADDED

3/14/05...The Kraftbrau show was fun...Man At Arms ruled all. Fuck you if you missed it. Next show: March 25, 2005 at the DAAC with North Lincoln. If you're not busy Sunday, you should come see Clear Days Always in Grand Haven.

3/10/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: 3/5 JAVA JIM'S PHOTOS ADDED AND SATCHEL JONES ADDED TO SELF-SATISFIED ROSTER.

Please write to someone and try to stop this stupid shit from happening.

3/7/05...Hey. The Java Jim's show was nice, except for the String Breaking God pissing all over Melanie. I tried spitting fake blood on everything to help the situation...I think it worked.

Our next show is this Saturday in Kalamazoo at Kraftbrau with Man At Arms and Fun Ender. You should come, unless you've been banned from the venue.

3/3/05 WEBSITE UPDATE...SUGARGLIDER ADDED TO SS ROSTER, AND NEW CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS CD-R... 3/2/05 ANOTHER TERRORIST ORGANIZATION CD-R ADDED TO SELF-SATISFIED ROSTER!

2/28/05...Hey. We made it back safely from Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. It wasn't our best show ever, but we did our best with a drum machine and short notice. Them's the breaks. Thanks to Jesus, Buddha, and Spongebob for not killing us on the way home. Icy Icy Icy Icy Icy Icy Icy Icy Icy...and then poo...poo poo poo.

Our next show is Saturday in Laporte, IN at Java Jim's with Ari Ari. You should come, 'cause there's gonna be free punches in the face.

2/27/05...HEY. If you weren't at the show at The Benedict House in Kalamazoo last night, you missed great music from great bands, including the amazing dynamic duo Comrade Kilkin and Letters In Binary...You also missed psychotic, totally wasted punks knocking over my mic stand, kicking my footswitch away from me, and repeatedly shoving Melanie. Great stuff. Anyways, we had fun.

We're gonna be in Wisconsin tonight....Fond Du Lac. At a strip-club that's an all-ages venue when there's no stripping. It should be interesting.

I wrote this at 3 AM. If it sounds like shit, I'm sorry. You should fucvjavnv....

2/26/05...Hey. The Kraftbrau show last night was tons of fun and rock. THANKS for all the kind words, everyone, and thanks to our Marshall friends for coming out! We got sweet compliments up the wazz last night! Geez! Okay...The Hentchmen and Gore Gore Girls are good people. You suck if you missed the fun, but you K-zoo bastards DO get another chance to see Spit For Athena, TONIGHT...We're going to be at The Benedict House (1119 Douglas Terrace, Kalamazoo, MI). It's a FREE show, people!!! Plus, Letters In Binary will be there, and they are insanely good (not to mention Comrade Kilkin and Hell Or Highwater). Be there or be...um...a dirty fucking bastard. Seriously...don't miss this kiss, Lizzie. Dad'll holler. Fuckin' see that he doesn't...naw naw naw...Che'.

2/21/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS AND AMERICKEN MOATERS CD-R RELEASES ADDED TO SELF-SATISFIED ROSTER. "SROOFIN" PHOTOS ADDED. Hey. The Mac's Bar show on Saturday went really well. The Demix and Books On Tape were both awesome...a nice change from boring ol' rock bands. You should check them out. We were super tired and left before The Casionauts played, but there were a million kids there just for them, so I'm sure they didn't miss us.

Recording at Broadside on Sunday with Mark Larmee went well...My footswitch for my amplifier stopped working and I kinda freaked out and crushed it with my foot and threw it across the room, but things got better after that. We managed to record sixteen songs, and we've still got a bunch left to do next time. Here's a list of what we got done. I'll have some MP3's up of rough versions for you to check out pretty soon. Until then, suck the root. Our next show is this Friday at Kraftbrau in Kalamazoo with Gore Gore Girls and The Hentchmen.

2/14/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW RELEASES FROM EARWIG SPECTRE AND THE MOMS ADDED TO THE SELF-SATISFIED ROSTER, CREEM AND METRO TIMES REVIEWS OF "THE LAKE EFFECT" ADDED TO PRESS SECTION...Hey. Well, we didn't die last night in the freezing rain-hail-deathstorm that we were driving around in last night...Aren't you relieved? The show in Howell was okay-ish...not many people showed up, but the ones that did were all very nice, attentive, and energetic. The Marshall show, though...GOD. Those kids are so amazing, so nice to us! We got applause when we walked in the door, just for showing up! They thought we might have cancelled due to the weather, but we wouldn't have missed a chance to play Marshall for anything...not even a little Michigan Satanweather. There was dancing, singing along, and I even knocked my amplifier over and broke a kid's power strip like a jackass (sorry, man!)...It was a good time. The show at Skelletones on Saturday was lots of fun, too, but it was a major bummer that Another Terrorist Organization didn't play. Our next show is Saturday in Lansing at Mac's Bar.

2/10/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA "RESPECT" CD-R ADDED TO THE SELF-SATISFIED STORE. Hey. In case you forgot: We're gonna be in Grand Rapids at Skelletones on Saturday, with Another Terrorist Organization. On Sunday we're gonna be in Howell at the Rec. Center, and then later, around 11PM, we're gonna be in Marshall at the ol' B.E. Henry building with Vaginal Death Blow. Come rock out with us, or we might punch your filthy face in.

2/7/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS CD-R FOR SALE IN SELF-SATISFIED STORE. You go buy now.

2/6/05 Hey. Gonna watch the Super Bowl tonight? Are you one of those supercool people that just watches it to see the lame new commercials? Well...that's pretty darn sad.

The show in Mount Pleasant last night at The Wesley Foundation was fun, but there weren't many people there because Reel Big Fish was apparently playing a free show in a building down the street. Tough competition even for the mighty Spit For Athena and Heads Will Roll. Eh...piss on you if you missed out. Heads Will Roll played NAKED.

Our next shows are Saturday in Grand Rapids at Skelletones with Another Terrorist Organization, and Sunday in Howell (around 8:30PM) at the Howell Rec. Center, and another later that night (around 11PM) in Marshall at the B.E. Henry building. Yeah. We work hard for the money...your money. Suck it.

02/03/05 WEBSITE UPDATE: NEW ITEMS ADDED TO THE SELF-SATISFIED STORE, PHOTOS ADDED TO THE OLI GUNGLIVASH PAGE. Hey...Our next show is this Saturday in Mt. Pleasant at The Wesley Foundation (1400 Washington Street)...It's VERY important that you come and rock out. If you're not there, many people will be very disappointed in you. YOU. This is NOT a general message to everyone visiting this website...I am speaking DIRECTLY TO YOU. You HAVE TO COME TO THE SHOW ON SATURDAY. DO NOT FUCK AROUND.

1/31/2005...Hey. The Blingerz show in Quincy and the Local show in Flint were both really amazing...Thanks so much to everyone who came out, thanks to all the kids who sang along to our songs, thanks for everything! The Flint Local people were able to raise around $800.00 for Tsunami disaster relief, so pat yourselves on the back if you were there! Our next show is this Saturday in Mt. Pleasant at The Wesley Foundation (1400 Washington Street)...be there or be home with your teddy bear...

1/24/05...WEBSITE UPDATES: VARIOUS ARTICLES AND REVIEWS ADDED TO PRESS SECTION, PHOTOS FROM 1/15/05 TRAVERSE CITY SHOW ADDED.

Hey. Levi has returned safely from touring with Clear Days Always. He had lots of fun, and is very happy that he didn't die while driving around in blinding snowstorms.

Spit For Athena will be in Quincy, MI on Saturday, at Blingerz, and in Flint at the Metropolis on Sunday. We'll be giving away copies of our CD's in exchange for money. What a deal!

Oh, yeah, one more cool thing: Despite having our feathers ruffled a bit by being dropped from our former label, we've decided to record our new album at Broadside in Kalamazoo (albeit with a considerably smaller budget) later this month. Joy! We'll keep you all posted...

1/16/05...WEBSITE UPDATE: FARENHEIT 128 WRITE-UP OF SPIT FOR ATHENA LINKED IN PRESS SECTION...Hey. The show last night in Traverse City was amazing. We want to thank all the people who came out to support the bands: You were all so nice, so full of energy. It was definitely not a boring show. Special thanks to Jon Timm and Cellar Door Productions for hooking us up with the show and promoting the hell out of it. The Traverse City scene should thank him, too...

We're going to be at the DAAC tonight, once again with The Forms and Anathallo. Spit For Athena will be taking the week off after that, because I'm going on a quick tour with my other band, Clear Days Always. The next Spit show will be in Quincy, MI at Blingerz, on January 29th...Don't forget the face of your father!

1/12/05 Hey. Eyeball Records has decided not to pay for our new CD, and they are letting us out of our contract. Eyeball plans on making an official statement sometime, but I just wanted you all to know that the new CD isn't going to be out as soon as we were expecting. We're "exploring our options". I know, I know...that's loser talk. See, people? Now we need your money more than EVER!!! Dig deep, ya bastards!

Next...We'd like to extend our apologies to anyone who experienced the ugliness that was our set on Saturday at The Corner Bar. My channel footswitch stopped working, so I was working with all distortion-no clean. It sounded like poop, so we got nervous and played like crap. I've got my spare footswitch with me now, so we'll do better next time...like this Saturday in Traverse City with The Forms and Anathallo. See you there?

There's HUNDREDS of meat-free options for you...I mean, becoming a vegan is a challenge (I'm still trying), but giving up meat is a pretty simple way to make the world a nicer place to live.
