(SS-0102) ELLE ASDEE - SE DICE VACCA NO MUCCA CD-R, $5.00
Merry Christmas. Elle Asdee, my friends. From Italy, you lucky dogs, a princess of buzz, grind, clack, hiss. Mike Patton, Omar Rodriguez, and Diamanda come to mind. Dark vibes with a sense of humor, open eyes. She's even been gracious enough to offer this fine album for FREE. Download it, enjoy it, then thank her on MySpace. Welcome to the family, dear. There will be much more to come from her in the future, so pay attention.
Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd was absolutely fucking FANTASTIC. His big "thank you" to all you fucks who didn't care for Corpse Bride or Charlie. The bitch is back, assholes.
Coming: Clear Days Always/Fecalove split, Trocar, The Chanteymen, Delightism, Techno Birdie

(SS-0101) PLANET OF ID - PAYSKOOL CD-R, $5.00
Here is the Self-Satisfied debut album from Planet of ID. Those of you who bothered purchasing the SS-0100 compilation should have noticed his contribution, "Pick Of The Litter", and it should have melted something on your person or in the room you were in. This CD-R, "Payskool", was recorded entirely on a Playskool tape recorder our guy found in a thrift store in Seattle. For fans of Clear Days Always' "Smith High School", Hot Tapes, being alone with your thoughts, staring, dreaming. The beautiful spray painted CD-R comes in a slimline case, and is also available on cassette directly from Planet of ID. Contact him through his MySpace profile. Help welcome him to the family. We're really happy he's decided to work with us.
Note: I didn't realize until just today that The Blood Brothers broke up.
On Christmas: Elle Asdee

This is a fucking amazing collection of music. I'm pissing-my-panties excited, and you should be, too. As far as the names you don't recognize: look for releases from Planet of ID and Elle Asdee in December, and Jabba, The Chanteymen, and Spit For Athena sometime next year...and more MORE MORE!!!
If I get all gushy and weepy, I won't know when to stop. Suffice it to say that Self-Satisfied is very important to me, and very important to the few people who bother to buy our releases. This has all been a lot of fun, and we can't see any reason to stop. We're shooting for 1000+ releases...that's why we leave that extra zero. We've made it to 100...let's see how far we can get before we all fucking die.
For Seattle people: On December 6th, you can go see Marc Palm's (and other artists') 30 paintings in 30 days for the Forgotten Works challenge. There's some details HERE. If you haven't seen the paintings yet (shame, shame), LOOK HERE.
Back to Michigan: Self-Satisfied artists Clear Days Always, The Chanteymen, and Bradley Post (performing as Gary Neason) will all be sharing the stage at Kraftbrau Brewery tomorrow (Wednesday, November 21, 2007) for the first and last time. HERE is a flyer. There will be copies of the new compilation available, so bring your fucking inheritance money, Richie Rich. Also at Kraftbrau: Friction Records Fest on December 7. Watch for updates on the Disonorato Booking MySpace page.
In other Friction Records news, owner Jeff Vandenberg and his sister have opened The Meanwhile Bar. Check it out if you're in the Grand Rapids, MI area.
Also in Grand Rapids: On December 21, members of The Frenchie Perlis Organization (including Brandon Labelle), Clear Days Always, and Coin, alongside a few other special guests, will be performing acoustic sets at the DAAC. A flyer and more information will be up soon on the Clear Days Always MySpace.
I guess that's it. See you in December.

(SS-0099) SFJ - 99 SONGS... CD-R, $5.00
The band name is abbreviated, the album name is abbreviated, the actual cover art is censored. Okay...I'll let you know something: The full album title is "99 Songs To Jack Off To". So...yeah. This isn't for children. Anal Cunt, Pig Destroyer, Melt Banana, freak-out noise shit. Check out the mp3s on their MySpace profile. Be offended...be very offended.
We are very, very excited about November. Our birthday...our 100th release...a fantastic compilation. New tracks from Frank Fuzz, Mikey Die, Spin And Let Go, Clear Days Always, Elle Asdee...more, more, more. You're gonna pee yourself.
Marc Palm got on a fucking art show with fucking Jim Woodring. You should all go give him some e-blowjobs or something, 'cause he's a shining star. If you live in Seattle, you're lucky! You can give him a REAL blowjob!
In other Marc Palm news, you should go over to his other blog, Marc Palm's Junk Drawer, and check out the thirty...that's right, THIRTY paintings he's just completed for the Forgotten Works Challenge. They're all fucking amazing. You suck. Go vicariously NOT suck through Marc and his paintings. I'm kidding...you don't suck. But neither do Marc's paintings.
Our friend, Melinda, is selling some lovely dolls she's made. You should go add her on MySpace and see what she's got. HERE is an example.
Congrats to Levi and Brandy tomorrow on their 3rd anniversary. Aww.
THIS is totally fucking amazing. You should probably, like...get your hands on it. And then get your ears on it.
Oh, oh, oh...we welcome your comments and suggestions. Feed back. Feedback.
Sooner: Elle Asdee, Trocar, Clear Days Always/Fecalove split
Later: Monoglot, The Somber Worth, Watson And The Shark, Spit For Athena, CCCCCCC.

(SS-0098) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - ANSWERS FROM BACK PANEL CD-R, $5.00
Another chunk of plastic to toss in the Clear Days Always time capsule, to maybe be appreciated by silly music lovers of the future, or melted down into fuel for Neo-Con death machines. Various noises, pop songs, screaming, happy happy sad sad with titles inspired by and stolen from the answers to the questions on the back of a Flintstones cereal box. Cover artwork by Scumbalina. Not part of the HOMES series, but who's counting? Who's there? Wuzzat?
We're preparing a special treat for our upcoming third birthday in November, which will also bring our 100th release. You're gonna shit your pants, we promise. Because we're giving you laxatives. Lots of them. Squish! Splat!
Marc Palm's blog comic continues. His art is hanging up in an espresso/wine shop in Seattle. Read about it on the blog. Buy his book.
October brings: SFJ
December brings: Elle Asdee
January brings: Trocar
Fuck off.

(SS-0097) PANGAEA - HELPSA CD-R, $5.00 or free Lulu.com download
Another fine release from the out-of-control mess that is Pangaea. Sometimes lovely, sometimes disturbing, always noisy and completely improvised. Another live recording from the now-defunct Harvey's dungeon in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Special guest appearance from a drunk(?) homeless(?) crazy(?) woman, humming/singing nonsense into a microphone after being invited onstage by the boys. Fun for the hole family.
New to our distro section: Säh's 06/06 CD courtesy of Cincinnati's Phratry Records. Not really new...we've had these a while, I'm just really fucking lame about updating this page. Shame on me. Shame on YOU if you don't buy a copy of this fine, fine album from this excellent band. Säh and Phratry have decided to let us keep 10/01, 10/02 and 11/03, so buy those too, if you haven't already. Phratry is an excellent label, so you should buy everything else they're selling while you're at it. They even have stuff on iTunes. Go! Go! And see Säh on tour! Good Lord!!!
If you've been paying attention to Marc Palm's blog, you'll know that he's been doing a daily comic. You can now buy a book of 100 of these fine comics RIGHT HERE. $8.00 plus a bit for shipping...not a bad deal considering how much these comics will improve your sad, sad life.
Coming soon: Clear Days Always, Trocar, SFJ.

(SS-0095) MY DOPPELGANGER - 04 CD-R, $5.00
(SS-0096) MY DOPPELGANGER - 06 CD-R, $5.00
Merry 7/7/07, you bastards. Here's a double-shot from My Doppelganger. If you've never gotten into Uhmericken Moatoars, or bought 98, shame on you. I guess you hate awesome sample collages, beats beats beats, fall asleep, wake up covered in bugs that aren't there, dance 'em off. Like Dangerdoom, like DJ Shadow, like Jan and Dean, like old television commercials, public service announcements, duck and cover, sing-a-longs. This shit is amazing, and you're gonna buy everything he's done.
Marc Palm is still doing his blog. It's amazing. Levi's got one going, too. Alright.
Coming: Alexander T, SFJ, Clear Days Always
Tuesday, June 12, 2007
(SS-0094) LEVI BAILEY AND BRANDON LABELLE - PEAS CD-R, $5.00
Another fine collaboration between Self-Satisfied veterans Levi Bailey and Brandon Labelle. Brandon plays guitar, Levi plays drums and runs the whole mess through a broken flanger. The two have worked together before in Groute Gate Gender and Clear Days Always, and this guy "Peas" lives right around the corner from those projects. Pink Floyd, Tortoise, Hum. Get busy buyin' or get busy dyin'. That's not a threat, Charles. Put your pants back on.
Marc Palm's done over fifty of his amazing blog comics now. How many have you read? Seriously, you're disappointing us with your lack of enthusiasm. Levi Bailey is doing an art blog now, too. Something else for you to ignore.
The limited-edition Clear Days Always "VHS" packages are almost gone. Oh, I didn't mention that they're limited-edition? Whoops. Anyways, we're ditching the whole ziploc-bag-sticker thing, so if you want one, you better buy one now. When these run out, we're just gonna start wrapping the CD-Rs in dog poop, and believe me: we'll never run out of dog poop.
Coming up: My Doppelganger, CCCCCCC, Spit For Athena

(SS-0093) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - VHS CD-R, $5.00
VHS contains the first Clear Days Always recordings to feature the talents of new member Chris Sommerfeldt. This EP was recorded in Chris' basement, with Chris in charge of all the knobs and sliders, bells and whistles. Levi just sings and plays his guitar parts on this one...It's Chris that provides all the sparkle that makes Levi's songs jump and shine. Shiny McShine. One brand new song, one song that people have been begging to see recorded for years, and a few major improvements on previously recorded material. The packaging is a plastic sandwich bag with a spraypainted CD-R inside, an inkjet-printed sticker, and a couple pieces of paper with useless information printed on them. Catch the fever, sack of shit.
Marc Palm (if you don't know who he is, you must be new to this site. Start HERE and HERE) has a really cool comic blog going that you should check out. It's awesome. What the fuck are you doing with YOUR life, butthole?
Pan's Labyrinth and The Fountain both came out on DVD today. Great stuff. You should probably go buy them both right now. Also, if you're a Cranberries fan, the Dolores O'Riordan solo album came out today, too, and it is fucking AMAZING. Did you buy the Jodorowsky DVD box set yet? Also, you should take a shower more often in the summer than you do in the winter, 'cause you sweat more. Things can get...tropical...down south.
Next month (probably): more My Doppelganger
Later: CCCCCCC, Brandon Labelle, Pangaea
Tuesday, April 17, 2007
(SS-0092) WIRE/CLOTH/FABRIC/RECORD CD-R, $5.00
Bradley Post's body of work is a brilliant, shining example of Michigan creative superpowers being used to their fullest. His art and music, and the whole mess combined into one dizzying pile, should make anyone with a heart and brain weep like a baby. If you don't believe me, check out his incredible website. If you get through the whole thing unimpressed, thinking you can do better, send us something, because this is some of the best shit we've seen and heard in a long time. Wire/Cloth/Fabric/Record is his first gracious donation to the Self-Satisfied catalog, and we hope it's not his last. Check out a few mp3 samples on his site, HERE.
Next week's release will be the Clear Days Always EP "VHS". It's not part of the HOMES series, but rather an introductory showcase for the group's excellent new work with Chris Sommerfeldt. It includes never-before-recorded Clear Days Always songs, and a couple new gems you've never heard. If you want the CD-R before it comes out Tuesday, and to see Chris and Levi in action, come to the show at Skelletones this Thursday. Awesome.
Finally, Self-Satisfied would like to welcome another special member to the family. Ladies and gentlemen, meet our new chihuahua, Danzig:
It's okay to feel jealous. It's natural.
Next week: Clear Days Always "VHS" EP...soon: My Doppelganger (I promise!!!)
Tuesday, March 27, 2007
There's a new book by Marc Palm called "Maniacal ". It's a huge photography book, stuffed full of some of Marc's best, and most explicit, shots. There's a couple sections featuring a nude Levi Bailey (of Clear Days Always), covered in blood, covered in chocolate syrup, raping Ben Lyon of Burning Hatreds. There's a zombie-girl eating intestines, and another girl hanging out in an office, looking pretty dead. It's totally amazing. Full-color, 162 pages, $55.00, and worth every penny. Buy it now...either straight through Lulu.com, or contact us about it.
Speaking of Clear Days Always, they'll be opening for Daniel Johnston at The Intersection (in Grand Rapids, Michigan) on Wednesday, May 9. Tickets are $10.00. You can contact Levi on MySpace or just ask us about tickets. Daniel fucking Johnston. If you don't know who he is, watch the DVD documentary about him, The Devil And Daniel Johnston. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
See you soon...April is probably gonna be My Doppelganger month. You can't wait.
Tuesday, February 27, 2007
(SS-0091) EARWIG SPECTRE - SUPERSTRINGS AND SPIDER CRABS CD-R, $5.00
The great Earwig Spectre strikes again. This is his sixth release with Self-Satisfied. Everything this man/insect does is amazing, so I'm not going to say something silly like "this is his best work to date", but I can say that it is the next logical, brilliant step. Subotnick Cage, "a most learned and charming spider crab", takes you on this Tim Burton/Richard Elfman-esque audio journey, narrating sections between Earwig's brilliant songs, which are just as clever and exciting as any of his classics. If this is the first you've heard of Earwig Spectre, shame on you! You should immediately and wisely spend $30.00 on his entire catalog, especially if you're a fan of Wendy Carlos, old horror soundtracks, King Crimson, Tim Burton, Danny/Richard Elfman...Earwig Spectre will win your heart! Go say "hi" to him on MySpace, and personally promise him that you'll buy all his CD-Rs!
We at Self-Satisfied would also like you to check out the new book by Marc Palm, "Maniacal", featuring nude, violent photographs of a few of Marc's more daring models, including Levi Bailey of Clear Days Always! It's an expensive book, but it's high-quality and full-color, and it'll give you a boner, so don't bitch! Check out the other books in the Swellzombie store, too, and the Monsterhead stuff.
In Säh news, we're totally stoked to announce that those fine men have a new CD coming out very soon! We're not releasing it, but they're giving us a couple boxes for distribution, so save $10.00 for when that sweetness drops! We don't have many details yet, but you'll know 'em as soon as we do! We do know that they have some CD release party dates posted on their MySpace for the Michigan area, so go check them out and buy a CD if you're in the area!
Lots of My Doppelganger stuff coming...he's just being a picky bitch about packaging and stuff. It'll be well-damn-worth the wait, trust us.
Stuff to check out: Lovely music by Rider Alert, great new noise releases from the SNSE label, and some Charles Bronson rock from Jon Zaremba! Enjoy!
Alright! That's it for this episode, kids! Suck lemons and spit seeds! Grr!
