(SS-0090) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - MOTHERFUCKER I STOLE PANTIES CD-R, $5.00
This is the 21st CD-R in the Clear Days Always HOMES series. It's Levi's absolute-ultimate-end-all collection of home recordings. If you're not on the Clear Days Always train yet, this is an awful/wonderful place to start. Buy the ticket, take the ride.

Next week, new/old My Doppelganger. Marc and Levi are working on books. The Bad Spellers might throw us a delicious bone in 2007. Use up all the ink and plastic. Buy the Sandman fat-ass hardcover and your damn legs'll fall asleep. Tracks is on DVD now. Thanks, Paramount. Thanks, Marc. What? Huh? The Income Tax is a fucking scam.

Tuesday, December 5, 2006
Whew! Over a month with no Self-Satisfied goodness! Did you miss us? Let's get back to business...

(SS-0089) LEVI BAILEY, GREIG BLOOM, MARK LARMEE, MATT WOOD
PLAINWELL, MI, OCTOBER 10, 2004 CD-R, $5.00
This is the second release from the sessions recorded at Mass Smombs (in lovely Plainwell, MI) in September and October of 2004. We're releasing them backwards, 'cause that's how we roll. 61:18 of improvised beautiful-funny-serious-weird party noises music happy getting-to-know-each-other madness chance luck coincidence. A lot of fun. If you enjoyed the first release (SS-0020), or any of our releases from Pangaea, Groute Gate Gender or Oli Gunglivash, this is for you. If you aren't familiar with those bands, you need to ask me, politely, to make you a sampler CD-R. Alright.

A quick note about Levi Bailey's comic strip collection "Cumic Straps": After receiving criticism for the original, admittedly rushed front cover design, Levi has designed a new version with a cooler cover. Apologies to anyone with the lame version. These things happen. I guess the old versions are now collector's items, though, so...yeah. Good for you.

Snow-death-crap outside, giving us all plenty of reasons to stay inside and work on new music, paintings, comic and art books...lots of stuff coming in the new year. There's some releases coming up (as previously and falsely promised in October) from Clear Days Always, Pangaea, Earwig Spectre, My Doppelganger, Brandon Labelle, Swellzombie...It's gonna be a fun 2007, the last year before the New World Order kicks in, we all get chip implants, and everything turns to shit. Why not enjoy the last days of your freedom with some affordable Self-Satisfied merchandise? And Christmas! Don't forget Christmas! Buy stuff! It's what Christ wants you to do! Consume! Consume!

Finally, I want to give a shout-out to some labels we recently did trades with: Phratry Records of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ss Records out of Sacramento, CA. Check them out and give them some money.

See you next Tuesday...

Tuesday, October 17, 2006
(SS-0088) GLITTERBOMB CD-R, $5.00
Glitterbomb is Melanie Cumming and Levi Bailey. Pop-influenced, lo-fi, noisy, improvised fun. Flintstones, toys on the floor, boredom, drum machines, television, frustration. Check out FUNCH!!, too, their split with Amster.

God spoon cockroach love pistol. A better bride than you. Simple Minds playing a show in Europe next to a pink elephant with Gandhi diaper although not fear for knives. The ends touching.

Coming next week: More Clear Days Always, more My Doppelganger.

Tuesday, October 3, 2006

(SS-0087) BRANDON LABELLE - STORIES FROM THE CITY, STORIES FROM THE SEA CD-R
Brandon Labelle (Frenchie Perlis Organization, 2 Mornings, Groute Gate Gender) takes on PJ Harvey, covering her beautiful album of the same name. Please don't sue us. This is tender, humble homage, not an attempt to steal any of these lovely songs. We're even giving it away free, we only ask that you purchase one of Brandon's other albums: This Album Is Snakes or Divided In Cinders. All hail PJ. This is probably a really bad idea.

If you're wondering, Säh has cancelled their upcoming tour. Looks like you'll just have to order their amazing CD-Rs (10/01, 10/02, 11/03) from us for now. I'll make it easy for you: Buy two of their albums between now and Halloween, I'll throw the third in for two bucks. Deal?

We now have a distro section, a place for all the great stuff we can't put the Self-Satisfied name all over, but still want to bring to your attention. Look at our catalog, all the way at the bottom of the screen. Available are the excellent (and excellently priced) Hoax comics from Mental Note Press, and a great Halos For Martyrs CD and the critically-ignored Clear Days Always CD, courtesy of Friction Records. You buy now.

Coming next week: Glitterbomb

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

(SS-0086) SÄH - 10/01 CD-R, $5.00
Alright, so we do things backwards here at Self-Satisfied...so what? A few weeks ago we re-released two CD-Rs from Säh's past, 10/02 and 11/03. We didn't release this first album because the guys said they were thinking about retiring it. Thankfully, they decided to let us pick it up. Here it is, the first Säh album that ever broke my heart, 10/01. Lord knows why they'd want to keep music this good from us. For fans of A Minor Forest, Don Cab, Godspeed...buy this now. If you don't want to order it from us, go buy a copy from them while they're on tour...check their upcoming dates on MySpace.

Coming up: more Brandon Labelle, more Earwig Spectre, more Pangaea.

Tuesday, September 12, 2006

(SS-0085) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - ELIJAH 2 CD-Rs, $6.00
The 20th HOMES release. Times they are a changin'. A nod to the old days in his mum's trailer. Self-pity, absurdity, rage, masturbation...what's changed? Includes the rejected Top Gun theme, "Sugar Torture". Two CD-Rs of absolute vneious, which is kinda like genius, only with stubble.

Anyone who ordered the Oli Gunglivash CD-R last week will notice that we've included a free Self-Satisfied t-shirt and $16.00 gift certificate. Just our way of saying "thank you" to people who actually give a crap about what we're doing here. The remaining t-shirts and gift certificates will be pooped on and burned. You snooze you lose.

Coming Soon: Säh's "10-01", Brandon Labelle's "Stories From The City..."

Tuesday, September 5, 2006
(SS-0084) OLI GUNGLIVASH CD-R, $5.00
Oli Gunglivash was/is an improvisational jazz/rock/noise/chant group made up of members of Uncarved Block, Groute Gate Gender, and The Kent Miller Funk Explosion. This album is a collection of "jams" and "freakouts" recorded live by the group in Kent's basement on June 12 and June 26, 2001. These recordings were later mixed and put to CD-R by Tracy Northern, who was, arguably, completely out of his mind during the process. You'd be a fool not to purchase this gem. On to it, friend.

Next, we are proud to present a new book by Levi Bailey:

CUMIC STRAPS by Levi Bailey, 26 pages, 6.63" x 10.25", saddle-stitch binding, 80# white interior paper, full-color interior ink , 100# exterior paper, full-color exterior ink, $10.00 ppd.

Coming soon: More HOMES, more Säh, more Brandon Labelle.

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

(SS-0083) LAPDANCER AND ZOON - AN UMBRELLA FLOODED BY WATER EP CD-R, $5.00
Zoon, a cello-toucher from the same galaxy as Swellzombie and Official Cookie Taster, improvised 16:48 of cello music, which Lap Dancer massaged into the five tracks on this EP. Somehow haunting and calming at the same time, this is a must for anyone who enjoyed Zoon's first album or Lap Dancer's gorgeous collaboration with Hidekazu Wakabayashi, Limitless Light. "An Umbrella Flooded By Water" is ambient, moody and beautiful. Zoon now has a MySpace profile, where you can check out the first track off this fine EP.

Marc Palm has many fantastic books for sale on this site, and he's brought one more to our attention. His work was recently published in The Big Ol' Book of BIZMAR, a new Anthology from Young American Comics with over 75 stories combining bunnies, insects, zombies, monkeys, aliens and robots. As if Marc's contribution isn't enough reason to buy the damn thing right now, Matt Biolchini (a.k.a. The MLB) also has work featured in the book. 232 pages, $20.00 (except to retailers, who get a special discount straight from YAC! Yeah!). What the hell are you waiting for?

Levi Bailey is currently working on a new version of his Rice Boxes book, as well as a collection of his comic strips (some of which can be seen on his MySpace profile). No possible release dates have been mentioned, and we wouldn't recommend holding your breath.

Self-Satisfied is proud to announce that we're now carrying the Hoax quarterly comics anthology, released by Mental Note Press. It's also distributed by Fantagraphics, which should give you a clue as to how damn fantastic this stuff is. If you need more proof, check out the Mental Note Press website and add them on MySpace.

Coming soon: Alexander-T, more Clear Days Always, more Säh.

Tuesday, August 15, 2006
(SS-0082) LEVI BAILEY AND ADRIAN SIMMONS - LIVE, BATTLE CREEK, MI, 10-26-2002 CD-R, $4.00
Two guys, two acoustic guitars, some singing, some harmonizing, some feedback, sneezing...
"Adrian Simmons is a good friend of mine who now lives in Bellingham, WA. I'll always wish that we'd made more music together before he left, but I'm glad there's any recordings at all. This is a show we did together at another friend's Halloween Party. There's some feedback, a lot of weird room noise, but it's still a decent document of the work we were starting to do together, using some songs I'd written for Clear Days Always and Spit For Athena." - Levi Bailey

Tuesday, August 8, 2006
(SS-0081) MY DOPPELGANGER - 98 CD-R $5.00
Beats and illegal samples galore. Some reject DJ locked in his house with hundreds of old records and movies. Disturbing in its precision, while never losing its sense of humor. For fans of Danger Mouse and Fantomas' Suspended Animation (minus the metal). Listen to a track HERE on our MySpace profile.

Hot Tapes For Teens and Clear Days Always (noisy CDA, not acoustic) are playing this Friday at the DAAC, part of a big noise show that Sam from Hot Tapes got together. They're getting together again on September 30 in Lansing, for the big 517 noise fest. Fun. Be there or be...unaffected by waves of nausea-inducing noise. Pussy.

Marc Palm (Zoon, Swellzombie, Official Cookie Taster, Groute Gate Gender, Monsterhead, Unicycle Productions, etc.) is working on books that'll kill you twice. Brandon Labelle is cooking material for a new album. Earwig Spectre just opened for Spit For Athena in Chicago, and you missed it.

The new Daughters came out today, too, by the way. Hell Songs. It's the fucking shit.

Tuesday, July 25, 2006

(SS-0078) GROUTE GATE GENDER - PRANQ, RUUTSCHE AND OENRE CD-R $5.00
Today we give you another fine release from Groute Gate Gender (see SS-0029 to catch up with the rest of the class). Groute Gate Gender is/was Levi Bailey, Greig Bloom, Brandon Labelle and Marc Palm. This album was recorded in Greig's father's barn a few years ago. This stuff is for fans of improvised music, and stuff like Tortoise, A Minor Forest, Mr. Bungle and Lynx. Fun, smart, dumb, bleah, boo, ha ha, tears. Something sticky on something hard. There's gonna be a shit-ton of Groute Gate Gender releases on this label, so you might as well learn to like the taste.

Frank Fuzz and Säh sold a shitload of CD-Rs at the Hornet CD release party last weekend, and we were there passing out our little promotional flyers like good whores. If you haven't seen Frank Fuzz or Sah (or Hornet) live, you're fucking up your life.

Check our MySpace page for important dates concerning all your favorite Self-Satisfied bands. Lots of cool stuff coming up.

Official Cookie Taster's Over The Moon CD-R is incredible. Buy it, you dum-dum.

Next week: Doppelganger

Tuesday, July 18, 2006
(SS-0079) SÄH - 10/02 CD-R, $5.00
(SS-0080) SÄH - 11/03 CD-R, $5.00
Self-Satisfied is pleased to welcome a very amazing band into the Self-Satisfied family. Säh hails from the distant, alien north of Michigan, a place known as The Fearsome Yoo-Pee. There are three men in this Säh-thing...a guitarist, a drummer, and another drummer who sometimes plays guitar. They all occasionally scream/sing when the song calls for it, when something needs to be released that the music doesn't seem to be attending to. They can be compared to Tortoise, A Minor Forest, Don Caballero, and some kind of religious experience you can't tell anyone about because you're afraid you'll spoil it somehow. They are wonderful guys, they make wonderful music, and they are allowing Self-Satisfied to slip her tentacles into their second (10-02) and third (11/03) albums. Listen to some songs on their MySpace, go see them in Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids this weekend, or anywhere else they might be headed, and buy these albums. Don't fuck around.

Coin is still packing shows into their fattening schedule...check out all their dates on their MySpace.

Clear Days Always and Hot Tapes For Teens will be shitting out terrifying noise at Space Vs. Time in Grand Rapids with Chicago filth Insect Deli and Pommel. Bring your earplugs, knives, broken glass, fire, hate, etc... If noise isn't your cup o' tea (I hear that noise is more fun to make than listen to), you can see Clear Days Always in tender acoustic form at Quinn & Tuite's on August 5th.

Next week: Groute Gate Gender

Tuesday, July 11, 2006
(SS-0077) OFFICIAL COOKIE TASTER - OVER THE MOON CD-R, $4.00
The second Self-Satisfied release from Official Cookie Taster (after the debut "SK-5 Is Alive", which has since gone quadruple platinum). Overexposure, fragility, sneaking around in the bushes, dreaming about space, building a robot, singing the blues, wondering about the future, falling asleep. For fans of Swellzombie, Tricky, Pangaea, Rasputina, Devil And The Deep Blue Sea, Clear Days Always, Tom Waits and Sugarglider. Download "Mechanics In My Brain" for a little taste, or head over to his MySpace profile. Mmm.

Coin, Clear Days Always and Hot Tapes For Teens all have shows coming up. You should act like you care...you should bring flowers and honey.

Next week, we are pleased to welcome Sah into the Self-Satisfied family.

Send us money. Now.

Tuesday, Juney 27, 2006
(SS-0076) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - CAMIE CD-R, $4.00
The 19th release in the HOMES series, a collection of home-recorded gold straight from Levi Bailey's heart and asshole. Piles of steaming feces and broken glass that you have to dig through to find the true gems, which may or may not actually be there. No one cares about you.

Wow...we can't believe it: Couscous has now sold 175,562 copies. We really can't thank all you people enough for all your support. We knew this project was going to touch people, but this response has truly floored us...You're amazing. We've donated a percentage of the profits to flowers, 'cause them shits smells good.

Go see Coin live. Go see Clear Days Always live. Go see Hot Tapes For Teens live. Go see Satchel Jones live.

Coming up next: Doppelganger, Pangaea, Groute Gate Gender, Official Cookie Taster.

Tuesday, June 20, 2006
(SS-0075) SATCHEL JONES - CREATURE COMFORTS EP CD-R, $6.00
If you haven't heard the Tea Cake EP yet, you're a jerk. If you miss out on Creature Comforts, you're an idiot. Shades of Mutations-era Beck, the Elephant 6 collective, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits...this stuff is amazing. Add Satchel Jones on MySpace (and go see him live), buy this CD-R, and stop being a bastard.

One of the short movies from the Coldwater Kids DVD-R, "Wagon Wheel", has been posted on YouTube.com. Check it out right now before Net Neutrality makes it a pain in the ass.

Couscous has sold 456,793 copies. Thanks so much to everyone who is helping this wonderful album become God.

Coin has a few shows coming up. The dates are posted on our MySpace profile and on the Coin MySpace profile. There's a big one in Detroit you should all buy tickets for, 'cause I think you might get a free copy of "Goat Piss..." with your purchase. Alright.

Up next: Official Cookie Taster, Clear Days Always, stuff, things, debris, chunks, silt.

Tuesday, June 6, 2006 (666!)
(SS-0074) VARIOUS ARTISTS - COUSCOUS CD-R, $5.00
Clear Days Always made a silly little song about Broccoli & Cheese Couscous and invited a bunch of Self-Satisfied artists and friends to remix the track. Some used the separated tracks he sent, warping them into amazing new versions of the song that made the original pale humbly in comparison, and a few of the contributors threw out the original track altogether and recorded their own interpretation of the song. This is truly one of the most amazing things Self-Satisfied has ever released, a showcase of the stunning talent this label has the pleasure of working with.

Contributing Self-Satisfied artists include: Clear Days Always, Lap Dancer, Sugarglider, Stab Stab Die, Official Cookie Taster, Spin And Let Go, Mark Larmee, My Doppelganger, 2 Mornings, and Earwig Spectre.

The compilation also features remixes from Mt. Non-Fiction, Rabbit Girls, Charlie Deets, Sam Snedeker and Brandon Hill of Hot Tapes For Teens, Tony Speller of The Bad Spellers, Bryan and Heather of Helles-Dostoevsky, and Alexander-T.

Obviously, we're peeing our pants over this release. Buy it now.

Go see Clear Days Always, Coin, and Hot Tapes For Teens, and The Plurals at the DAAC this Saturday. Here's a flyer. There's no damn good reason not to be there, unless you're coughing up blood.

Coming soon: Glitterbomb, new Official Cookie Taster, more Clear Days Always, My Doppelganger, Oli Gunglivash...DAMN!

Tuesday, May 23, 2006
(SS-0073) STAB STAB DIE - TIDBITS CD-R, $5.00
Stab Stab Die's third release with Self-Satisfied. Creepy, slithering sounds wrapped around recordings of his mother and grandma having phone conversations. Totally amazing. Read more about the release here, and hear the mp3 of "He Knows" here at Lulu.com.

Up next, on 6/6/06, "Couscous". Later: Satchel Jones, Official Cookie Taster, more Clear Days Always, and all the other stuff we keep lying to you about.

Tuesday, May 16, 2006
(SS-0072) BRANDON LABELLE - DIVIDED IN CINDERS CD-R, $5.00
Brandon's second album with Self-Satisfied (not counting his 2 Mornings project or his work with Frenchie Perlis Organization and Groute Gate Gender). He's back with his voice and his guitar, and he's added a new friend. It reminded us a bit of God Lives Underwater, mature Silverchair, and maybe a little Placebo. Listen to the track "I'm An Alarmist" here at Lulu.com if you're registered. Brandon is currently in North Carolina, breeding parakeets. Please be careful, baby. We're missin' you.

Next week: Stab Stab Die's "Tidbits". It's frickin' amazing, so start drooling now.

Coming in June: The Clear Days Always "Couscous" maxi-single, featuring remixes by Lap Dancer, Sugarglider, Stab Stab Die, Official Cookie Taster, Spin And Let Go, Mark Larmee, 2 Mornings, Charlie Deets, and more. Prepare yo'self.

Tuesday, May 2, 2006
(SS-0071) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - AUDREY II CD-R, $5.00
The 18th disc in the Clear Days Always HOMES series. Some of the earliest moments in Levi's recording adventures. See the video for "Tulip" right here, and then send us $5.00 for the CD-R. Send an extra $5.00 for Levi, too, 'cause today is his 26th birthday! Ha!

Marc Palm, the man behind the curtain of Self-Satisfied, is moving to Seattle, WA. That's fucking awesome for him, but it's even more awesome when you think of all the Devil And The Deep Blue Sea shit that's probably gonna explode now that he's flying back into Mr. Paul's lovin' arms. Sweet Jesus.

Coming soon: More Official Cookie Taster, Glitterbomb, more Stab Stab Die, the Couscous project...it's gonna be a hot summer, baby.

Tuesday, April 18, 2006
(SS-0070) DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA - THIS OUGHT TO TEACH YOU SOMETHING CD-R
Another live dose from overlooked Seattle's outer-spacey creepjobs Devil And The Deep Blue Sea. This is their fourth release with Self-Satisfied. The amazing artwork (by Marc Palm) alone is worth $5.00, so you should count your lucky stars that we're including awesome music with your purchase. For fans of...Stanley Kubrick movies? Mouse On Mars? Close Encounters Of The Third Kind? Close your eyes.

In other "news", one of Levi Bailey's old bands, Noma, recently contributed a track to a LP compilation for Nauscopy. The comp is called "THE DATE FORK SEEPS THE RIVER VOL. 2", and you were supposed to submit the most unmusical thing you could come up with. Levi chose a portion of an old Noma practice tape where Noma's drummer, Ian, played a recording his grandmother left on his answering machine where she sounds like a malfunctioning robot. The submission was accepted, so I'm sure you can happily imagine how fucked up the rest of the album is. It's $9.00 over at Nauscopy...get it while you can.

Tuesday, April 4, 2006
(SS-0069) EARWIG SPECTRE - LIVE INFESTATIONS AND ASSORTED LARVAE
More awesome, insect-obsessed music from Gary, Indiana's genius Earwig Spectre, and this time it's LIVE...and with a guitarist! Usually Mr. Spectre flies solo with just a keyboard, but a guitarist accompanies him on a few of these tracks, and it adds an amazing new dimension! If you're a fan of his other releases on Self-Satisfied, you can't miss this! If you haven't heard any of his stuff yet, you gotta jump in sometime, so it might as well be here! Another Self-Satisfied classic! Listen to the live version of "Let The Insects Rule The World" over at Lulu.com HERE. Awesome!!! CD-R, $5.00

Also, Levi Bailey's first "real" book is now available in the Self-Satisfied Lulu store. It's called "Rice Boxes No. 1", and it's a collection of twenty drawings and paintings done on the backs of rice boxes. You can order it through us or straight from Lulu...it's $15.00, but that's the base Lulu price for printing the book...we're not making any money on this one. The same goes for the Monsterhead and Unicycle Productions stuff. Enjoy!

Tuesday, March 28, 2006
(SS-0068) FRANK FUZZ - DEAD BIRDS ALWAYS FLY SOUTH CD-R, $5.00
Frank Fuzz releases his second album with Self-Satisfied. For fans of Hayden, Neutral Milk Hotel, early Beck, pretty mornings, long car trips...Totally amazing. We're lucky ducks to have him in our family. Check out his MySpace and his website for more information.

Tuesday, February 7, 2006
Chris Paul strikes again...

(SS-0067) RODENT-MAN - FORGET THE PAST CD-R, $2.00/FWP
Chris Paul (Sugarglider, Devil And The Deep Blue Sea) has given us another musical gift. Before Sugarglider, there was Rodent-Man, and this is the corpse of that project, dressed-up and covered in lipstick. She looks like a lady now, and she's all yours. Free with any other Self-Satisfied purchase, or $2.00 if you totally hate all our other stuff. Hear the song "Heat" right HERE.

In Unicycle Productions news, Marc Palm (Pangaea, Swellzombie, Official Cookie Taster, Devil And The Deep Blue Sea) has released a new collection of comics, sketches, and unreleased goodies of his fat-ass superhero, The Ant. You can purchase it HERE from his store at Lulu.com, either in hardcover or paperback. Get it now! Check out Marc's other books, too.

Up next week, we have another HOMES release from Clear Days Always, and, eventually, a live Earwig Spectre release. We also hear that Coin has some shows coming up, and that Marc Palm and Levi Bailey's new book is going to take off the top of your head and chow down on your fucking brains. Keep your pants on, folks, but leave a light on.

Tuesday, January 31, 2006
So, yeah...it's 7:57PM. I'm doing this really late. It's been a busy day, and I'm sick, and...yeah. Well, if anyone cares, I'm sorry that you're reading this on Tuesday evening or even sometime Wednesday, instead of...yeah. On time. I'm bad. Jam on.

(SS-0066) AMSTER/GLITTERBOMB - FUNCH! CD-R, $3.00
Today we're releasing a split CD-R between two bands you've never heard of: Amster and Glitterbomb. Amster broke up without ever playing a show, and these are their only existing recordings. Glitterbomb plays every once in a while, and will have an album coming out with us later this year. Amster sounds like The Strokes mixed with The Misfits, and Glitterbomb is just silly, silly shit. Think Half Japanese mixed with Teletubbies mixed with too much sugar. It's all very honest, and that's what we think is important, but it also (technically) sounds like shit, so we're making it available for a slim $3.00. We love the bands and music enough to archive this stuff and put it out there, but we don't want to rip anyone off. Or something. Okay...this is entering "too much information" land. Fuuuuuuck....hear some songs from the album HERE.

Coretta Scott King died today. People die. She was cool, though. If you don't know why, you should put her name into Google.

Okay...alright...other news. Marc Palm and Charlie Burgoon are artists. They've released stuff on their own (Charlie's stuff is HERE and Marc's stuff is HERE), and they've formed a Voltron-like alliance called Monsterhead. If you're on top of things, you've already downloaded their first free collaboration from Lulu.com, The Reclusives. If not, you should go get it right now, and while you're at it, pick up their other available free item, Quasioctix. Again, people...these are free downloads of excellent comic books. There's no reason for you not to go to Lulu.com right now, register if you haven't, and download these free damn works of damn art. Okay?

Other Marc Palm news, sorta...Levi Bailey (Clear Days Always) and Marc Palm (Swellzombie, Official Cookie Taster, Pangaea, Devil And The Deep Blue Sea) recently finished the color cover image for their new book, a collection of drawings they created together using the exquisite corpse method. I forget what the title is, but it's really long and deep, and the book is going to be fucking beautiful and available through our Lulu.com store. Watch the skies.

More art news...our friends at Mental Note Press now have a MySpace account (poor bastards! Everybody is getting sucked in!). The coolest part about this is that Karl (Bigwig CEO of Mental Note Press) Kressbach is posting an entire comic in his blog section...page by page, panel by panel, one panel a day. It's awesome. He's only a couple panels in right now...go catch up, bookmark it, and start enjoying it with the rest of us! Oh, and go to their website and buy everything Mental Note Press has to offer...it's totally amazing.

I guess that's about it. It was a busy-ass January, and February's lookin' just as hot. Oooh. Oooh, baby. Beavis and Butthead was a highly underrated show.

Tuesday, January 24, 2006
Hey. Another Tuesday, another release, another fucking Clear Days Always CD-R.

(SS-0065) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - 1193 HOURS 2 MINUTES 48 SECONDS CD-R
This makes seventeen HOMES releases, and they just keep getting...um...better? I mean, what is BETTER, really? Who are you to say what's good and what's bad? I mean, Ariel Pink compared to Beethoven, vomit compared to a 2,000 page novel, Clear Days Always compared to a crying teen mom. Right? Am I being right? Just cut it out! This thing is plastic and paper, $5.00, so full. Full of music? What is music? This is all so ridiculous. I am meaning, seriously. But real, man. $5.00. There are many mp3 samples here for you to be listening to.

There is still art for you to be looking at inside the DAAC. Don't miss out on this, man. This is something, like, huge in sizes. Run for the hills.

Oh, hey...The Moms got on MySpace. Much sweet.

Tuesday, January 17, 2006
Okay...My cat was all happy and warm on my lap, but I moved her aside, because today's release is too damn amazing, and I've gotta get serious on all of you...

(SS-0064) STAB STAB DIE - DONE...NOW WAIT CD-R, $5.00
I'm listening to it right now. We love this. It's great...and we're not just telling you that because we want your money, or because some Clear Days Always remixes pop up during this 60:42 excellent live show, or even because Scott is in the mafia and will have us all killed...We say "it's great" because IT REALLY IS. If you like Portishead, Lovage, Dr. Dre, beats, good vibes, mood, mmmm.....I can't tell you. I can't explain it. It's great. Their CD was great, too, but this is, like, stunning. Stab Stab Die has changed directions, and "Done...Now Wait" is the point where we'll all look back and realize "Oh, that's where things started getting crazy." Cover art by Julian Garner. Fantastic. Buy this.

In Coin news, Chad has updated their website, made a Coin profile at garageband.com, and slipped us some cash to get more copies of the "Goat Piss Into Gasoline" CD-R printed up, since we sold out of the last thousand and blew the cash on amphetamines. Buy a copy today, and visit Coin at MySpace!

You can still bid on the project (pictured in the last news update) that Levi Bailey (Clear Days Always) and Holly Thomas collaborated on. The auction ends this Friday, and it's PayPal only...Sorry to anyone who got bum links about it posted on their MySpace profiles...I'm dumb. And, again, Levi is part of an art show this Thursday at the DAAC. Don't miss it. 6-10pm. Four other artists. Snacks, probably. Yeah.

Marc Palm is working on new books that will blow your ass away. Prepare for something big. Juicy.

I guess that's it. I feel like I'm forgetting something.

As we've mentioned before, Levi has an art show coming up at the DAAC in Grand Rapids with four other artists (all girls. Levi is the only sausage in the show). The opening is this Thursday, January 19th, it starts at 6PM and goes until 10PM, and it would be really cool if any of you showed up. In other Levi art news, he recently collaborated with Pennsylvania artist Holly Thomas , and they've made their project available for purchase on Ebay HERE . Levi made a drawing/painting thingy, and Holly made a rag doll to go with it. It's awesome. Go bid your brains out, 'cause you've only got until January 20th.

Expect another update on Tuesday! We love to harass you!

Hello. Release #2 for 2006. Exciting. It will be less exciting by, say, release #27. But right now, we're peeing in our hot little panties. This is great...ooh, baby...

(SS-0063) PANGAEA - MAKE LIKE A TREE CD-R, $5.00
This is Pangaea's third release with Self-Satisfied. Masturbation is beautiful. A live performance from Harvey's open-mic night (a nice used-to-be that is now called Southtown, some sports bar, Kalamazoo, sad...) a few years back. Keyboards, reverb units, voices...Noise. Atmosphere. Grumble, mumble. Levi hitting a cookie tin with a rubber mallet and squealing. Applause. Wow. You can download the whole twenty-plus-minute performance from Lulu.com (only if you have a super-great computer...it's a huge, 40+MB mp3 available HERE), or you can buy the CD-R for a wimpy little $5.00. Your choice, buttholes. Hear Pangaea on MySpace HERE.

Reminder: Levi Bailey (of Clear Days Always, Pangaea, etc.) is going to be part of an art show at the DAAC on January 19th. There's (for now) a flyer HERE. If Grand Rapids, Michigan isn't too much of a drive for you, you should definitely be there. Four other artists will be displaying their beautiful stuff alongside Levi's questionable bullshit. Come one, come all.

Reminder #2: When you see a price, like, "$5.00", that includes shipping. I sell these things for (usually) a buck less at shows. So, yeah, these prices include shipping. How nice. So...yeah. Someone should fucking order something. Excuse my language. Whoop-whoop-whoop.

In other Self-Satisfied news, the Coin album sounds considerably louder (better?), and features two extra tracks (recorded (GASP!!!) professionally at Broadside Productions). You can hear one of those tracks here at Lulu or (temporarily) on our MySpace profile. It's really great, and not buying a copy of it, or at least visiting Coin on MySpace, is just dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Happy New Year! Wow! We made it to 2006! Exciting! Here's the best way to start 2006 (besides cleaning that vomit off your ceiling)...by buying a copy of...

(SS-0062) HIDEKAZU WAKABAYASHI AND LAP DANCER - LIMITLESS LIGHT CD-R
There's a whole bio that Jamie wrote a detailed bio-thingy about this album HERE, so I won't say much more...I just want to say that this is really amazing stuff. Hidekazu is an amazing talent, and Jamie shows a lot of restraint with how he handles the material...It's a great combination, and you should buy a copy RIGHT AWAY!!! $5.00 is too cheap for something this good, so you're damn lucky we've got such big hearts (and we're millionaires). Welcome Hidekazu! We're lucky to have him join our family!!! This release, by the way, is Lap Dancer's fourth release with us! Wowzers!

In other Lap Dancer news, there's going to be a limited-edition Lap Dancer/Zoon split CD-R coming out soon...More details later..."Limitless Light" should be plenty to deal with for now, you greedy bastards!

I'm hoping to get some PayPal buttons up on all the items to make purchasing things from us online a little easier. Give me a couple/three weeks. Yeah. Until then, you'll just have to follow the sweet payment instructions HERE.

I'm repeating myself here, but sometimes people need to hear things more than once: Levi Bailey (of Clear Days Always) is part of an art show at the DAAC that will be opening on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 6:00PM. Three other artists will be part of the show, and all the awesomeness will probably blow your ass off. Cut open your hand and wipe the blood all over January 19th on your Dilbert calendar, so you'll remember proper-like. Yes.

MP3s are starting to pile up in our Lulu.com store. If there's some song off some album that you'd like to hear that isn't up there, contact us and let us know. Alright?

Coming in 2006: Live Stab Stab Die, live Earwig Spectre, Amster/Glitterbomb split, Rodent Man, Watson & The Shark, more HOMES, more Groute Gate Gender, more Pangaea, more, more, more!!!
