2005 SELF-SATISFIED NEWS

December 27, 2005
Today today today we release release release...Whoa! Sorry...damn reverb. Today we release the sixteenth HOMES release from Clear Days Always...and it's cheap!

(SS-0061) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - 10/13/2002 AND 11/20/2002
This is another HOMES release. If you don't know what the HOMES series is all about yet, then you're probably new to this website, and you should start HERE. Anyways, this CD-R is only $3.00 because the recording quality is more terrible than usual. It's hard to judge "bad" when it comes to lo-fi, but this thing was recorded on a clock radio. Hey...it's got heart. Some songs you've probably heard, some new ones, a bad U2 cover (he loves the song too much not to have given it a shot), and the sound of Levi spraying Formula 409 into his mouth and choking. Excellent?

This is our last release of 2005. We've had an amazing year...fifty-eight releases! Thanks to all the sales we've made, we can afford to buy huge plasma televisions and long limo rides in 2006! Either that, or we barely sold enough to pay for the materials for printing and assembling our sixty-one releases! That's the one! Yeah! Rock and roll! We should probably, like, learn something from this! Advertising? Gimmicks? Empty promises? Less profanity?

Have a safe and happy new year celebration...don't drink and drive, don't bother making any silly resolutions you won't stick to, and don't expect the war to end any time soon! Stay distracted! Stay hopeless! Everything is fine! Your government knows best! Open your wallets, let them into your homes...it's all wonderful!

Coming in 2006: Lap Dancer/Hidekazu Wakabayashi split release, live Stab Stab Die, Amster, Glitterbomb, Rodent Man, Watson & The Shark, Rick Johnson Rock And Roll Machine, the "Couscous" single...AND MORE!! 2006, here we come! Gyahhhh!!!!

December 20, 2005
Here is the new release for this day...this December day...this Self-Satisfied release...another CD-R...another piece of plastic to thrill you. Thrill you. Release SIXTY. SIXTY releases. Old man. Itch.

(SS-0060) SPIN AND LET GO - TOTAL FUCKING WASTE 666 LEAVE ME ALONE
Spin And Let Go (Nicholas Stafford) was one of the first bands to be released on Self-Satisfied. Does one man count as a "band"? Is Nicholas really a "man"? Anyways, his first release with us was free with any other purchase, and so is this one. Nicholas is a very kind, giving individual. Sharing his brutal, genre-jumping Tascam abortions with all of you FOR FREE. If you're not gonna buy anything else from us, there's a $2.00 shipping/asshole charge. If you REALLY want to stick it to us, there's four Spin And Let Go mp3s available for free in the Self-Satisfied Lulu.com store. There's also a few songs up at the Spin And Let Go MySpace profile, but how fucking cheap are you?

Pangaea performed again last night at Kraftbrau's Open-Mic Night. Thanks for not showing up...they were able to play naked for most of their set, until the bartenders made them aware of approaching open-mic vermin. Goodness.

Lap Dancer and Zoon are rumored to be collaborating, and right now you can hear a juicy sample over on Lap Dancer's MySpace thingy. They haven't decided on a label for the release of that particular project yet, but WE WILL be releasing Lap Dancer's split with Hidekazu Wakabayashi ("Limitless Light", January 2006), which is totally fucking amazing.

In Clear Days Always news (sort of), Levi Bailey has decided to start selling his art. You can see the pieces he has available and their ballsy price tags RIGHT HERE. He's got a gallery show coming up in the third week of January at the DAAC. The opening is on January 19th. Mark your calendars, or whatever. In other CDA news, next week we're releasing the next HOMES CD-R. Oh, and you should purchase a copy of Smith High School, because it it's noisealicious.

December 13, 2005
Today. Here we are. Another week, another release. Happy Tuesday.

(SS-0059) SWELLZOMBIE - ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ AND HOW ONE DEAF MAN IMAGINES WHAT EACH LETTER SOUNDS LIKE CD-R
This album is totally amazing. It's a hard piece of work to explain, but we have to make sure and mention that it really doesn't have much to do with the alphabet, besides in concept. It is Swellzombie trying to be the best he can be, and we think he's done a damn fine job. "Frank" was apparently just an appetizer...Description? Words like "machine", "wires", "keys", "cords", "screams", "digital", "soothing", "inspiring". Twenty-seven tracks, one for every letter of the alphabet, and the last track a combination of all them...Wonderful, wonderful stuff. It has to be heard to be believed. Hear what Clear Days Always had to say about the album HERE. You can download the first track, "A", RIGHT HERE from Lulu.com.

In Dimchab Productions news, issue five of Rule Out The Mutilated Shadow was reviewed in the Nov/Dec issue of Punk Planet. We'd like to congratulate Elizabeth on this positive press, and we'd also like to remind you that you can purchase the collected first four issues, for only $5.00, right here.

Pangaea performed again at Kraftbrau in Kalamazoo last night. Open-Mic Night. You should come check them out some Monday, if you're in the area.

Next week we will see the release of a new album from Spin And Let Go, who has been quietly plotting his next evil move since the release of his Self-Satisfied debut. The new album is titled "Total Fucking Waste 666 Leave Me Alone", and we think that pretty much explains everything.

December 6, 2005
Hey. Self-Satisfied had a birthday, and we forgot to celebrate. It was on November 19th. Our first birthday. We totally forgot. Help us with a belated birthday celebration by enjoying free shipping on any of your orders for the rest of December. That's better than a spanking and some cake, dammit.

Today we release "Bridal Poverty" from Clear Days Always (SS-0058). He's taking a break from his HOMES series with this one. It's seventeen minutes of aggressive pounding noises...like being stuck in a steel barrel that's being kicked around by giants. It's four bucks for the CD-R, and free if you register with Lulu.com and go snatch up the free mp3 RIGHT HERE. Enjoy.

In non-Self-Satisfied news, you should all check out Mental Note Press. I just met Karl, who is the man behind the curtain, and he's a great guy. He hooked me up with some of his fantastic comics, and I can now confidently instruct you to go purchase everything they are selling! Do it! Then buy all our stuff, too! Consume, dammit! Consume!

Up next week we have Swellzombie's stunning "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ and how one deaf man imagines what each letter sounds like". Levi Bailey (of Clear Days Always) called it "brilliant", but you can't really believe anything that guy says. You'll have to wait until next week and buy a copy for yourself.

November 29, 2005
Today's new release is another handful of glass and shrapnel from Japan's Lap Dancer...

(SS-0057) LAP DANCER - DEATH-LETTER BLUES
For his third release with Self-Satisfied (after his debut, Triptych, and his split with Clear Days Always), Mr. Grefe unleashes more sonic mayhem and harsh noise violence from the depths of his widdle ol' depraved soul. Recommended if you prefer your sexual politics crushed into a fine powder of white noise, or if you're one of those people who needs to have broken glass rubbed in your ears to get through your day. In other words, it's wonderful.

Jamie has a lot of other releases available from a lot of other labels, so you should check out his MySpace profile for more information...But if you're going to start a Lap Dancer collection, why not start here? Hmm?

Speaking of other labels, Clear Days Always has just released a cassette with Rastan Records called "Smith High School". It's available through the Rastan website (or bug them on MySpace) for only $3.00. The tape is made of blue plastic, so even if you can't handle the harsh noise, bitter sound collages, and samples of Levi vomiting, you'll have a pretty, transparent blue trinket that only cost you three bucks! Rastan Records, by the way, is owned and operated by Rick Johnson of Rick Johnson Rock And Roll Machine.

Next week (to butter us up after whoring it up with Rastan, no doubt) Clear Days Always will release "Bridal Poverty" with Self-Satisfied. It's a detour from his HOMES series, which will resume in the last week of December. There's also new releases coming from Swellzombie and Spin And Let Go (if you're not familiar with Spin And Let Go, you can purchase his Self-Satisfied debut right now for $2.00, or get it for free with any other purchase!)...so, yeah. Fasten your seatbelts, or something. Rock and/or roll.

November 22, 2005
Welcome to Zoon country...smooth and mild.

(SS-0056) ZOON
A boy and his cello. The journey won't take long, and you owe yourself a vacation.

Homework assignment for you this week: go check out the Coin tracks on their MySpace profile from their Self-Satisfied release, "Goat Piss Into Gasoline" (SS-0025). Good stuff, especially for fans of Germs, Cure, Nietzsche, and Nirvana. We've sold thousands of copies of the CD-R, but there's still a few of you that don't have it...What are you waiting for?

Clear Days Always is playing in Kalamazoo at Kraftbrau tomorrow, opening up for indie-giant Crooked Fingers. It says "Clear Day Always" on his website, but we'll let that slide...he's a busy man.

Other good news: Self-Satisfied is now accepting payments via Paypal (to selfsatisfied@gmail.com). This makes it even easier for you kittens to buy tons of merchandise from us so we can one day fill our swimming pool with cash and have a REAL orgy. I'll work on getting little Paypal logos up on all the products...all that "add to cart" business or whatever. I don't know. Anyways, buy something.

Comin' next week: Lap Dancer's "Death Letter Blues".

November 15, 2005
Today's release is another wonderful contribution from Sugarglider...

(SS-0055) SUGARGLIDER - THIS AIN'T THE BLUES

This is a CD-R maxi-single of the great song "This Ain't The Blues" (another version of the song appears on release SS-0014, Sugarglider's "Now Music Make Me" CD-R). Included on this release is a new recording of "This Ain't The Blues", a cover of the track by Clear Days Always, a remix, a Black Sabbath cover, and a Leadbelly cover...all for only $4.00, or absolutely free with any other Self-Satisfied purchase!

We now have a home for our mp3 samples again...Lulu.com. Lulu is a place where you can publish books, CDs, and lots of other cool things and sell them through their online store. Self-Satisfied has set up a Lulu store RIGHT HERE. You'll need to register with Lulu first to download the mp3s, but it's pretty easy. We've only got a few mp3s up right now, but there's more on the way. Right now you can download the unreleased Clear Days Always track, "Bridal Poverty" (it will officially come out on Self-Satisfied in about three weeks, with packaging and all that), the live Pangaea track "Pictures Of Dead Kids", and Swellzombie's "Frank", all for free! Watch the Lulu store for more surprises in the future, and don't forget to visit the Monsterhead Lulu page to grab the wonderful, FREE comic "The Reclusives", by Marc Palm and Charles Burgoon. This is all free...what are you waiting for?

In Clear Days Always news, Levi will be releasing his noise masterpiece, "Smith High School", on cassette, with Rastan Records (owned and operated by Rick Johnson) in December. Watch the Rastan Records MySpace profile for further updates. The cassette will be, like, three bucks.

Coming Soon: Zoon, more Lap Dancer

November 8, 2005

Levi Bailey is back from Las Vegas, and is now married to the lovely Brandy Beerens. Self-Satisfied would like to wish the cute couple many happy years. Rock on...or something.

Back to business...Today we release "This Album Is Snakes" (SS-0054) by Brandon Labelle. Brandon was in The Frenchie Perlis Organization, and is the mind behind 2 Mornings. On "This Album Is Snakes", Brandon lets us get a little closer, lets us...um...crawl around in his brain. I don't know. It's really good. I was listening to Silverchair the other day, and I realized that Brandon sounds a bit like Daniel during the "Diorama"-era, which is a compliment if you're not a dick about Silverchair. It's great. You should buy a copy. You won't. Who cares? We do. Please, PLEASE buy something! Money, money, money, baby! Yow!

Clear Days Always has a few shows coming up in Allegan, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo. On November 23rd, Levi gets to open up for ex-Archers Of Loaf genius Eric Bachmann's Crooked Fingers. It's gonna be friggin' huge, so maybe you should go out of your way to be there.

COMING SOON: New Sugarglider, Zoon, new Lap Dancer

October 25, 2005
Today we release the fifteenth Clear Days Always HOMES CD-R, titled "Tiffanyspitality". It's dedicated to Tiffany Gordon, who allowed Levi to live with her, free of charge, in one of his down-and-out periods. These songs were recorded in that summer lake house (as well as the song "That Pizza Tasted Nasty", which only appears on the Friction Records CD release, "Ten Fingers: Five Yours, Five Mine and Habits Like Self-Love") using a four-track machine borrowed from Matt Biolchini of The MLB. It's a great collection, and it's worth your money. We're halfway home, children.

(SS-0053) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - TIFFANYSPITALITY
You can hear an mp3 from "Tiffanyspitality" right now on MySpace..."Kiss The Wheel".

Next week, Self-Satisfied will be taking a break. Levi Bailey is getting married to Brandy Beerens on Halloween, in Las Vegas, and they won't be back in time for a new release next Tuesday. Their wedding reception is on Thursday, November 3, in Kalamazoo, MI, at a place called Kraftbrau. If you didn't get an invitation, it's because Brandy and Levi totally hate you. Or they just forgot. I'm sure they're very sorry. See you Tuesday, November 8th, with Brandon Labelle's "This Album Is Snakes".

October 18, 2005

Shame on you if you missed the show where this photo was taken (Thursday at Kraftbrau in Kalamazoo, MI)...Luckily for you, Earwig Spectre has returned to lay more eggs in Self-Satisfied's anus...

(SS-0052) Earwig Spectre - Music By Which To Dine In Someone's Bowels CD-R
Mr. Boyden's fourth album with Self-Satisfied. Wendy Carlos meets Dead Kennedys meets "The Exorcist". David howls and growls in your ear while his fingers tell the rest of the story with a piano. Tape manipulation, dramatic instrumental interludes, and lovely lyrics: "
Fossilized dragon semen rains down from the sky/You thrust a piece up your anus, and then you die." Buy this right now.

In other Self-Satisfied news, Clear Days Always has a few shows coming up in Michigan, and Pangaea has been playing Open-Mic Mondays at Kraftbrau for the past few weeks, and they've already made plans to be there next week. Get off your ass, darling.

Next week: more HOMES.

October 11, 2005
Another fine Sugarglider release becomes the property of the evil Self-Satisfied corporation...and we've decided to let you get your dirty hands all over it!

(SS-0051) Sugarglider - Basic Language CD-R
The fifth Sugarglider release on Self-Satisfied, and definitely not the last. Four tracks in 48:53. More of the genius you've come to expect from this soul machine, if you've been paying attention. "Shed your civilization and find the sublime."

October 4, 2005

I know this is happening later than I promised, but I have a lot of trouble believing that any of you actually care...Here it is: our 50th release!!!

(SS-0050) Pangaea - Pictures Of Dead Kids CD-R
This is a recording of a live performance from 2001, when Pangaea performed at Kraftbrau Brewery in Kalamazoo, MI. Chris Paul from Sugarglider joins them on guitar (one of his last performances in Michigan before moving to Seattle), while Levi and Marc provide vocal hysterics and a jagged hippie drumbeat. Under eleven minutes, but that's all you'll need. Suck it up.

In other Pangaea news, they've updated their website a bit. Check it out HERE.

Next week (I promise): Sugarglider's "Basic Language" CD-R.

Clear Days Always has a couple shows coming up. Check out his schedule HERE.

Coming soon: More Earwig Spectre (check out his new MySpace profile!), more Clear Days Always, and Brandon Labelle's "This Album Is Snakes".

September 20, 2005
This week's new releases, folks...get 'em while they're...um...hot...

(SS-0047) The MLB - burn them down CD-R
An excellent full-length from Coldwater, Michigan's self-hating drunk bastard, The MLB. More of his filthy, distorted hate, mixed with disturbing soundscapes and lovely breaths of piano (to soften you up for the next blow). Don't fuck around. Buy this album right now.

(SS-0048) DLSV CD-R
Recordings from the basement practices of this Hillsdale, Michigan band that never got around to playing any shows. Features Levi Bailey of Clear Days Always. Hilarious, tedious, and, at times, rewarding. Free with any other purchase.

(SS-0049) Clear Days Always - Temporary Funk Shack CD-R
The fourteenth HOMES release, featuring pornographic readings by the lovely Chrysi Copeland, more bedroom recordings, more surprises, more shameless exposure. Enjoy.

Next week...A special surprise for our 50th release!!! PLUS: Glitterbomb/Amster split and more madness from Earwig Spectre.

ALSO...Clear Days Always will be performing at the DAAC in Grand Rapids, MI on Monday, 9/26. If you can come, he'll still think of you as a friend. Otherwise, you're dead to him. That's just the way it is.

September 13, 2005
Wonderful, stunning new releases today from Sugarglider and Clear Days Always, and a gorgeous new addition to the Self-Satisfied family...Mikey Die. Here's the news, fuckers...

(SS-0044) SUGARGLIDER - POLICY OF HALF MEASURES CD-R
Another fine release from these Seattle, WA sicko-genius blueshounds. "Linda" will melt your brain, trust me. It's one of the most insane things you will ever listen to. The rest of the album scoops up the mess and holds your hand through the process.

(SS-0045) MIKEY DIE CD-R
Mikey Die (like Frank Fuzz) makes us wish we had lots of money to spend on our artists. I don't know why this guy even talks to us, let alone allows us to release this beautiful little collection of songs. This is seriously one of the most beautiful things we've ever had the pleasure of sticking an SS number on. Low, Kings Of Convenience, Hayden, Mirah...yeah. We're still crying.

(SS-0046) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS - SURGERY GOSPEL OF JOHN TOOTH PENALTY CD-R
Lucky thirteen in the HOMES series. Raw, raw, raw. A lot of these recordings were made at 5:30 in the morning at Tiffany's place. A White Stripes cover. A Harry Nillson cover. Songs you've heard, songs you haven't heard, gems, bullshit...you know the drill.

I hate to repeat myself, but I wanted to tell you all, again, that MySpace is the best place to find mp3 samples from Self-Satisfied artists. We're hoping to make some dough here in the next few weeks, and buy a fancy new website, but until then...MySpace. Earwig Spectre, Clear Days Always, Spin And Let Go...plus, you can hear some unreleased Frank Fuzz stuff at his website. Just look around, people. Damn.

September 6, 2005
New releases today from Earwig Spectre and Official Cookie Taster...

(SS-0042) EARWIG SPECTRE - THE SOUND OF ONE FISH SMOKING
Earwig Spectre can do no wrong...and any fan of Wendy Carlos is a friend of mine.

(SS-0043) OFFICIAL COOKIE TASTER - SK-5 IS ALIVE
Nasty spankmusic from a friend of Swellzombie. Boop-beep-beep.

Coming Soon: Glitterbomb, more MLB, more Clear Days Always.

August 30, 2005
Today, Clear Days Always has released the twelfth CD-R in his HOMES series, Some Ol' Tascam, Some Ol' Fostex, and AST Nightmares (SS-0041). It's a lot of old recordings, some of his very first, made in his mother's trailer. It's only $5.00. We were going to sell it for $4.00, since some of it is pretty silly shit, but the good stuff is totally worth the extra dollar. If you want it for four bucks, we have to dip the CD-R in piss before we send it to you. Sorry.

In other Clear Days Always news, another "Couscous" remix has been handed in, this time by Noah of Roil Noise. Check out the website, it's fantastic...especially if you're geeks, like us. Look for more collaborations in the future with Roil Noise, hopefully. The "Couscous" mega-single thingy probably won't be released until early 2006, so put your pants back on.

If you didn't notice the new "Links We Like" section, check it out now. Let me know if you want to be up there, and I'll consider it.

Last, but not least, we're running a special in September...all orders are 25% off. This offer is only good September 1-30. Don't be a dick...order some shit. September. Do it.

COMING SOON: Official Cookie Taster, Mikey Die, more MLB, and more Earwig Spectre.

August 23, 2005
New release today from Swellzombie. Good electronic soul/less for fans of Oval, maybe? Or Aphex Twin? But, then, that is inviting unwanted scrutiny. Computer masturbation. Technological advances in strolling through the park. Hear Swellzombie at MySpace and add him to your friends list, or forget about Christmas. Ungrateful wretch. Sandman. Traitor.

Soon: Glitterbomb. More Earwig Spectre.

August 16, 2005
New release today from Another Terrorist Organization, their second release with us. It's their split CD-R with Das Gestapo, and we're pleased as punch to be carrying it. Buy it right now, or the terrorists win. Go here to check out the A.T.O. track "Ask Your Doctor If Paxil Is Right For You" on our MySpace bullshit.

August 2, 2005
Some of you might have noticed that the mp3 samples are no longer available. This is because we are sucking too much space from spitforathena.net and frictionrecords.net, who have been kind enough to let us have a page on their server. Until we have enough money for our own website, there won't be any songs for you guys to download. We hope you loaded up on them while you had the chance. You can still check out some of our mp3 offerings over at MySpace. NOW...how about some GOOD news?

New Releases:
SS-0036 Earwig Spectre - Monster Factory CD-R
Another fantastic release for those of us who are lucky enough to be Earwig Spectre fans. Keyboard-driven one-man madness. Gorgeous. Classical piano music shoved through a giant cockroach...in the mouth and out the ass. Political ranting. Out-fucking-standing.

SS-0037 Clear Days Always - Sweet Infection and Stare At Your Sister CD-R
Number 11 in the HOMES series. Home recordings ranging from listenable to terrible. 2 CD-R's of hugs, kisses, and fuck.

SS-0038 The MLB - Get lucky. Go to hell. CD-R
Raw-ass rock hatred. Biolchini doesn't take shit...but he'll take your money. Scared-ass pussy.

SSDVD-0001 Coldwater Kids Movies DVD-R
Dimchab Productions brings you six short movies made by kids from Coldwater. HAMSTER BALL, RAPE CONNECTION, SPICE CHANNEL, HARD, WAGON WHEEL, and CHUBB CRACKER. Starring Melanie Cumming, Levi Bailey, Ian Walling, Ben Lyon, Tia Kay Smith, Erik Degroot, and a shit-ton of other people you might not know, but will grow to love, just by watching these fine homemade movies.

Clear Days Always will be at MOSAIC in Grand Rapids, MI on August 14th with Business Lady.

Coming Soon: More HOMES, more Earwig Spectre, more Sugarglider, more The MLB, Coldwater Kids Movies 2, DLSV.

July 18, 2005
New Releases:
SS-0033 Clear Days Always - Shitfest Fuckfest CD-R
The tenth HOMES release. More of the same, if you know what I mean.

SS-0034 Stab Stab Die CDEP
Stab Stab Die is fucking amazing, and we're happy to mix their blood with ours. We're gonna make some pretty babies. Get this CDEP while it lasts..there's only a few handfuls available. How many CD's can you fit in your hand?

SS-0035 Sugarglider - Man Lying Down On Job Voluntarily CD-R
This is the third Self-Satisfied release from Sugarglider, and it is fucking CREEPY. Seriously, there's some truly unsettling moments on here. If you like your Clear Days Always mixed with Jandek mixed with found recordings that are real in a way that makes you want to cry, then pick this baby up, and keep your eyes out for more Sugarglider releases over the next few weeks.

In other Self-Satisfied news, welcome back from tour, Levi! Levi took Clear Days Always to Illinois for a week. He and Brandy are $200.00 in the hole now, but they had some fun, and met some nice people. Who cares about money, right? Right? Hello?

July 5, 2005
Out today: Sugarglider's Housecleaner CD-R (SS-0031) . It's chock-full of outtakes, alternate mixes, and a mind-blowing cover of "Daydream Believer". Even if you aren't a Sugarglider fan yet, this disc belongs in your collection to smack all the other ones into shape. Don't be a damn fool...buy this now. Contact us.

While you're ordering the Sugarglider CD-R, why don't you pick up our other new release, John Sands (SS-0032)? If you like songs that are critical of our government, anti-war, and dripping with homoeroticism, then John Sands is for you!

June 30, 2005
Today Self-Satisfied releases two more wonderful CD-R selections for your listening pleasure. First, we have Groute Gate Gender (SS-0029). Groute Gate Gender features Levi Bailey of Clear Days Always and Brandon Labelle, of The Frenchie Perlis Organization. The first nine tracks are the first recordings they (Levi, Brandon, and Greig, years before Marc Palm joined the group) ever made together. Recorded in Brandon's parents' garage in Coldwater, Michigan, this CD-R stands as a testament to their chemistry, luck, and collective sense of humor.

Next, we have Clear Days Always vs. Lap Dancer (SS-0030...a milestone! Yeah!). Levi and Jamie each offer around twenty-five minutes of fuck for your ears. It's NOISE, people. Hardcore, violent noise. It sounds like a blender raping a microwave. A calculator screaming for help. I can make this crap up all day, or you can just stop being a pussy and buy it!!! If you can't appreciate noise, you're missing out on an entire universe of possibility. Too bad.

In other Clear Days Always news, Levi and Brandy are heading out to New York this weekend, and Indiana/Illinois sometime next week...details are HERE. Go check him out if he's going to be in your area. Also, Uhmericken Moatoars is working on a Clear Days Always "Couscous" remix...the plot thickens.

June 13, 2005
Clear Days Always has released another CD-R in the HOMES series, HOMES #9, "Rebirth Of The Drool And Who's The Now" (SS-0028). It was recorded in Bruce Bloom's barn, during the same session as "Palmstomach" from the "Ten Fingers..." Friction release, while Levi was watching his dog a few years ago. The CD-R is five bucks. It doesn't suck.

I also would like to make it clear that the CD-R releases are homemade...we burn the CD-R's on our computer, print the jackets out on our inkjet printer, and stuff them into CD bags from Bags Unlimited. We spraypaint the CD-R's on our porch. We stuff stickers and extras into every order...you will never only get what you pay for. Now...why don't you e-mail us your order, right now? Are you fucking scared?

June 2, 2005
Today Self-Satisfied has the pleasure of releasing another Devil And The Deep Blue Sea CD-R...this one is called Disrespect, and it is kind-of a companion piece to their first CD-R with us, Respect. There's unreleased material, alternate versions of songs, and sexy surprises. Buy a copy right now.

Also, I don't know how many of you like reading or looking at art and comics, but there's a new issue of Rule Out The Mutilated Shadow (the zine created by Elizabeth Chabez and Levi Bailey) available on this website, totally free, for your reading/zoning-out-in-front-of-a-screen pleasure. Check it out, issue 5,
right HERE.

Hey...Two new CD-R releases today. Coin's Goat Piss Into Gasoline...this is the warm-up release for the CD that should be recorded and released in the next few months. It'll be amazing...For now, you can enjoy this amazing CD-R of live recordings, noisy collages, hilarious samples, and more.

Next, Clear Days Always' The Dawn Wilson Album. Levi forgot to thank Dawn in the liner notes for his Friction Records release, and he decided to just dedicate a Self-Satisfied release to her! Dawn was Levi's neighbor for many years, and is one of his best friends...it's a crime that she was forgotten for the Friction CD. The CD-R has all new material, culled from four-track recordings made in the past year.

E-mail us right now and ask to buy them both, because I know you've got ten fucking dollars.

Hey...The supercool Ghost Train Press stuff is finally up, and available for purchase. Charles Burgoon is a frickin' Michigan treasure, and you should buy as much of his work as possible while it's still in print! I'm talking about limited quantities, people! Precious jewels! Come on!!!

In Clear Days Always news, Levi just released his first "real" CD, with Friction Records. Don't worry, everyone: Levi still plans on releasing more CD-R's with us. Put your pants back on. Now...go buy a copy of Ten Fingers: Five Yours, Five Mine and Habits Like Self-Love.

Hey...Self-Satisfied now has an entry at allrecordlabels.com. Not that big of a deal, I guess, but fun. Takin' over the world, baby...

In other news, the Coin CD-R has possibly transformed into a Coin CD, and another remix has been handed in for the Clear Days Always "Couscous" project...very exciting.

Hey...usually I reserve news updates for when we're releasing something, but I'm too excited to hold this back: Glitterbomb, the sugarpopnoise project primarily between Levi Bailey (Clear Days Always, Pangaea, Spit For Athena) and Melanie Cumming (Spit For Athena) is currently working on a new CD-R for Self-Satisfied!!! Melanie is recording some tracks and various noises in her home in Coldwater, Michigan, and will then send the tapes up to Grand Rapids for Levi to work with! They're saying the material should be ready by June at the very latest, so keep your eyes peeled and your pants down! Glitterbomb is coming to Self-Satisfied!!!

In other news, the Coin CD-R has been pushed back to late June/July, due to layout issues. We'll keep you updated, don't fret. Go eat a snack, or something.

New CD-R release today from Lap Dancer...It's called "Triptych", and it's amazing, if you like noise. If you don't like noise, e-mail us. We'll ask you what you're into...if you say "jazz", we'll tell you that Lap Dancer is the best jazz you've never heard. You'll buy a copy of "Triptych" for five bucks, and then your fucking brain will melt when you hit "Play" on your CD player. If you don't know anything about Lap Dancer, GO HERE and catch up.

Anyone that went to see my art at the DAAC after the 14th and didn't see it anywhere, we're sorry...there was a mix-up with the dates, and the show actually ended on the 14th instead of the 17th. Don't worry, children, because you can still check out some samples of Levi's art RIGHT HERE.

Coming soon: Coin, Clear Days Always "Couscous" Supersingle.
