(SS-0110) KNOX MITCHELL - GIRLS' NIGHT OUT CD $8.00
Noisy, but not laptop noise. Very organic, very "live", but not without interesting production tricks and surprises. A cluttered, tiny apartment that you'll never be able to clean. Disgusted, but not without a sense of humor, a wink. Internal feedback, shouting, screaming, samples, beeps and boops, things being destroyed, things coming to life. To hear the track "Don't Rain On The Gay Parade", go HERE.

Coming Soon(ish): Lap Dancer's "Ice Field", and the next Clear Days Always HOMES release.

(SS-0109) LEVI BAILEY, BRANDON HILL, SAM SNEDEKER - FLIGHT OF THE CHEOPARD
CD $8.00 or FREE STREAM/DOWNLOAD @ ARCHIVE.ORG

Members of Clear Days Always and Hot Tapes getting together one fine afternoon in Brandon's basement to squeeze out some harsh sounds. Blistering, hateful noise. You look up just in time to see the Cheopard droppings landing on your face. You can either buy the plastic thing with the pretty pictures, or you can just listen to it for free. Either way, "fans" of "noise" should check this one out.

Coming Soon: Knox Mitchell, and more from the wonderful Lap Dancer

Today is A Paschal Circus Day at Self-Satisfied. On the very week that their new CD, "Oh Baby! Kick The Dead Horse" was to be released (Tuesday, May 20, 2008), this website took a poop. We're back online now, and letting you know, three months late, that you need to buy this CD. If you haven't heard A Paschal Circus yet, check out their music on MySpace. After being blown away by how good they are, you can buy one (or all) of the four different versions of the CD for only $8.00. More info/pics/links RIGHT HERE. Check it out!

More on the website: We're doing our best to get things in order, but you'll probably find a lot of dead links. If you get taken to a "Not Found" page, try removing "/spitforathenadir" from the address before giving up. That should work. If not, please drop us a line either at selfsatisfied[at]gmail.com or on MySpace and let us know. Thanks a lot. Besides fixing dead links, we're trying to make the whole site a bit more sexy...It's just going to take some time.

Coming Soon: Flight Of The Cheopard

(SS-0107) CCCCCCC - A Crime Of Opportunity Created By Serious Human Error
CD $8.00 or FREE DOWNLOAD (320kbps mp3s in a .zip) courtesy of steventhomasart.com

CCCCCCC was a Grand Rapids, MI band that was born in and died in 2006. Taylor Harrison (Drums), Joel Schneider (Bass), Steven Thomas (Guitar), and Phil Oleck (Guitar) were together for six months before meeting their vocalist, Levi Bailey, who answered an ad they'd put up in a local music store. They sounded a bit like At The Drive-In, Murder City Devils, and maybe a little Thursday. A few people loved them and a few people hated them. They wrote songs, fought, recorded an album in a professional studio and self-released a CD-R, fought, made some pins and stickers and t-shirts, fought, went on tour, then fell to pieces. They were smart enough to document four of their songs, and here they are. Enjoy.
You can either opt for the fancy plastic CD with artwork, or just download the music from Steve's art website via the above links. Buy some art while you're there, too.

We want to get PayPal links for all of our items, so it's easier for you to blow your money on them. We want to upload all our albums to archive.org (like we did with SS-0003), so you don't have to blow your money on them. We want to make fancy posters and stickers, and send them out with every order. We want to carry more distro items, and, in turn, have more distros carry our stuff. It's really fucking hard to stay focused, though, and sometimes we're too tired to lift our arms to pull the levers and push the buttons. Please let us know if you give even half a fuck about us: It gives us a reason to keep swimming.

Coming: Lap Dancer, Clear Days Always, Knox Mitchell

(SSB-0056) OAT CRACKS By Levi Bailey Comic Book, $10.00

(SS-0106) SPIT FOR ATHENA - TAMMY CD, $8.00

Two very cool releases today: the new comic from Levi Bailey (creator of Cumic Straps, and the mind behind Clear Days Always), and the fourth album from Michigan "rockers" Spit For Athena. Click on the item links above for more information on both of these fine gems. The comic book is so expensive because it's full-color, and shipping is included. If you have any questions about Spit For Athena, check out their MySpace. Check them out live, too, and you'll get a discount on the CD.

Levi is also selling an original work of art on Etsy.com. Check out this blog entry for more information. $50.00 is a lot of money, but when this piece is sold, it's gone. Oooh...chilling, right?

New addition to our distro section: Jon Zaremba's amazing CD "Vigilante Romance". Check out his MySpace profile to hear some of his work. The CD ($8.00) is full of great, old-school MIDI goodness, robot music, carefully written, hateful compositions birthed from a man who has been turned away too many times. Don't make his shitlist: buy this CD from us.

Soon: Techno Birdie, Lap Dancer, CCCCCCC

(SS-0105) CLEAR DAYS ALWAYS/FECALOVE - PASSY OUTEY/MY BODY IS AN EMPIRE OF FUN CD, $8.00
Italy's Fecalove sent Michigan's Clear Days Always a chunk of rotting meat. Clear Days Always was disgusted and horrified. Clear Days Always could not get Fecalove out of his thoughts, and asked him to do a split. Two huge slabs of rotting noise (17:04 and 18:30, motherfuckers). Listen at maximum and die.

Soon: Spit For Athena, CCCCCCC, Terrible Terrible, Swellzombie

(SS-0103/LMR 04) TROCAR - CITYWATER CD, $8.00
(SS-0104/LMR 02) TROCAR - LIFE ON MARS/MAMBO HARDCORE 7", $8.00

Trocar was a band from Kalamazoo. Here is the band, in a certain nutshell, from the words of former member Chafe Hensley, currently of Hornet. I got this off the Leon's Temple site, a Kalamazoo music tribute database:

" Well, Trocar was a lifetime for me. Many changes, many different styles, but it always produced honest and direct forms of clanging, driving, melodic and dissonant rock jams. It was an avenue for me to connect with communities, to make good music both live and recorded and helped my growth as a person. The bonds with all the members will always be there. I love Kalamazoo.

Trocar was notoriously complicated.

Trocar helped me be a better person. Trocar had it's flaws. I'm glad it's over and I'm glad it was archived.

Check out current bands: Hornet (Kzoo), I.Me.Mine (L.A.) and Perfect Panther (Chicago).

Cheers."

Archived, indeed. Self-Satisfied is re-releasing two Trocar items that first appeared on Chafe's Kalamazoo-based Littleman Records label. The "Citywater" CD is a chunk of fucking amazing. The music fits in ridiculously well with what many bands are up to right now, and with what the guys are doing in Hornet today. Think maybe Hot Snakes with A Minor Forest, or a meaner Sunny Day Real Estate. The other item we're releasing is the clear-red vinyl 7" of "Life On Mars" and "Mambo Hardcore". Both the CD and 7" are in limited supply...when they're gone, they're fucking gone...so maybe you should get off your ass and send us your dirty money. While you're at it, buy Hornet's "Insectuous" CD from Friction Records. Hear tracks off the CD on Trocar's MySpace profile, but don't try contacting them, because it's just a tribute page thingy. To get in touch with the boys, use Hornet's profile. You can also just be a cheap fuck and download the Trocar CD from Leon's Temple, but that's a dick-move when you can own the real thing. But it IS a good way to hear the music and decide that you can't live without that shit.

I don't know what else to say. Buy Trocar stuff. Buy Hornet stuff. Buy Elle Asdee and Planet Of ID stuff. Buy the SS-0100 compilation. I guess it all comes down to THIS.

Coming: Clear Days Always/Fecalove split, The Chanteymen
